The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 7/10/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 7/11/2024, MPD received 576 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (112),East (121), Midtown (96), North (95), South (73), West (63), and Other (16). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

East/Disturbance – 8:14am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 27-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Central/Stolen Auto – 10:05am: A moped was reported as stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The moped was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
East/Domestic Disturbance – 3:27pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving an 18-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery.
South/Adult Arrested Person – 4:25pm: A 34-year-old male subject, wanted, was taken into custody and transported to jail.
Central/Non-Residential Burglary – 7:42pm: Officers responded to a burglary in progress. Two subjects were observed leaving in a vehicle. No entry found to the building. Investigation continuing.
East/Death Investigation – 8:52pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (64-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Decedent had a history of health/medical concerns. Nothing suspicious identified.
Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 11:51pm: A traffic stop was conducted. A 29-year-old female passenger took off running. The subject was located/detained. The subject was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of narcotic drugs, resisting, and bail jumping (2 counts).

South/Sexual Assault – 1:23am: A victim reported being sexually assaulted. Investigation continuing.
Central/Check Person – 1:26am: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (27-year-old male). The subject was contacted, found to be heavily intoxicated, and transported to a local hospital where he kicked an officer. The subject was arrested for battery to law enforcement, resisting, and disorderly conduct.
