The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 7/23/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 7/24/2024, MPD received 483 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (79),East (100), Midtown (71), North (92), South (68), West (58), and Other (15). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 2:19am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 40-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, strangulation, false imprisonment, and battery.
West/Adult Arrested Person – 10:36am: A 57-year-old male subject was arrested on a probation hold.
East/Sexual Assault – 1:13pm: A victim reported being sexually assaulted overnight. Investigation continuing.
Central/Check Person – 1:17pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject (27-year-old male) carrying a female subject down State St and throwing her into a garbage can and onto a bench. The female subject was found to be incapacitated and conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation/treatment. The male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and bail jumping (2 counts).
Central/Fight Call – 4:37pm: Officers responded to a report of two subjects fighting. A 34-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting, and bail jumping. A 41-year-old male subject was issued a citation for disorderly conduct.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 9:48pm: Officers responded to a store for a subject (33-year-old male subject) setting things on fire. Store evacuated. No major damage reported. The subject was located and contacted. The subject was resistive. The subject was arrested for criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, resisting, felony bail jumping, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
East/Domestic Disturbance – 10:05pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, disorderly conduct, and resisting.
North/Trespass – 11:09pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject (73-year-old male) trespassing. The subject was taken to jail to post on the trespassing citation.
