The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 7/26/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 7/29/2024, MPD received 1,296 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (287),East (244), Midtown (207), North (199), South (153), West (172), and Other (34). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 3:45pm to 12:14am due to calls for service.

South/Theft from Auto – 5:59am: A handgun was reported stolen from a vehicle. Investigation continuing.

East/Theft from Auto – 8:16am: A handgun was reported stolen from a vehicle. Investigation continuing.

North/Disorderly Conduct – 8:27am: A 43-year-old male subject was terminated from his employer after recording another co-worker without their knowledge. The subject was contacted about this behavior and cited for disorderly conduct.  

West/Mental Health Response – 11:07am: Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Journey Mental Health consulted. An emergency detention was sought/approved. Final placement pending. *Subject transported to Winnebago.

East/Runaway Juvenile – 12:51pm: A 15-year-old male subject was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was listed as a runaway in the appropriate databases.

Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 2:34pm: A 25-year-old male subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant and new charges for domestic disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.  

West/Mental Health Response – 3pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject/vehicle that crashed into a tree. The subject was transported to a local hospital. Journey Mental Health plugged in. Emergency detention sought/approved. Final placement pending. *Subject was transported to Winnebago.

North/Disturbance – 5:34pm: Officers responded to a disturbance with a handgun involved. A realistic looking BB gun located. A 13-year-old male subject was arrested for possession of a facsimile firearm and obstructing. The subject was conveyed to the Juvenile Reception Center.  

South/Road Rage – 9:23pm: Caller reported that another driver was swerving in/out of traffic and pointed a handgun at him. Investigation continuing.

North/Domestic Disturbance – 9:56pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 52-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and a probation/parole hole.

Central/Domestic Disturbance – 10:40pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 35-year-old female subject. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.

North/Check Person – 11:52pm: Officers responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver. Contact was made with the subject who was not found to be intoxicated but rather possibly experiencing some mental health issues. The subject was found to be listed as missing/endangered from another state. The subject was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Final outcome pending. *Subject transported to Winnebago.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 6:32am: A 59-year-old male subject (wanted) was located and arrested without incident.

North/Sexual Assault – 10:12am: A victim reported being grabbed inappropriately by an unknown male subject. Investigation continuing.

North/Death Investigation – 11:56am: Officers responded, along with EMS/Fire, to check the welfare of a subject (20-year-old female). Entry made to the residence and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.

North/Mental Health Response – 1:55pm: A subject was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. Journey Mental Health plugged in. Emergency detention sought/approved. Placement pending. *Subject transported to Winnebago.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 3:02pm: Officers were on another call when they were alerted to a domestic disturbance involving the same subject officers were in contact with (54-year-old male subject). The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery.  

North/Mental Health Response – 5:20pm: Officers responded to a check person call. The subject was transported to a local hospital where an emergency detention was sought/approved. Placement pending. *Subject transported to Winnebago.

Midtown/Intoxicated Driver – 5:28pm: Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject (44-year-old male) in a running vehicle. The subject was contacted and found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense).

East/Intoxicated Driver – 9:43pm: Officers responded to a crash that involved an intoxicated driver/subject (35-year-old male). The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.

North/Adult Arrested Person – 11:50pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving an armed 27-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, armed while intoxicated, and battery.

Priority calls only from 1:19am to 3:29am due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 11:09am to 12:20pm due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 2:22pm to 10:16pm due to calls for service.

Central/Traffic Arrest – 12:54am: Traffic stop was attempted but the driver/vehicle fled. The driver (19-year-old male) later bailed on foot and was apprehended. The subject was arrested for eluding, resisting, numerous traffic citations, and a probation hold.

North/Traffic Arrest – 1am: A driver/vehicle was stopped for racing. The driver (27-year-old male) was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. A passenger was arrested for obstructing, carrying a concealed weapon (loaded handgun), and possession of marijuana.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 5am: A 32-year-old female subject and a 44-year-old male subject were arrested for fraudulent use of a credit card. The male subject also had an outstanding warrant from another state. The female subject was also charged with misdemeanor bail jumping.  

Central/Check Person – 8:09am: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was contacted, transported to a local hospital and left in the care of medical staff. 

Central/Disturbance – 12:09pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 44-year-old male subject. The subject was transported to jail to post on a municipal disorderly conduct citation.

East/Death Investigation – 1:48pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject (42-year-old male subject) with a gunshot wound. Lifesaving measures attempted but not successful. Incident Report on MPD's website completed. Incident appears to be an isolated situation with no known threat to the community. Investigation continuing.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 3:10pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject who was injured. A disturbance was found to have occurred involving a 35-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety and bail jumping.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 10:53pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 48-year-old male subject. The subject was contacted and ultimately arrested for disorderly conduct and a probation hold.

West/Domestic Disturbance – 1:19am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 45-year-old female subject. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.

West/Armed Robbery – 2:08am: A witness reported observing a driver crash into two vehicles and several subjects fleeing on foot. A victim was identified who reported meeting up with several subjects to sell shoes. The victim reported a gun was pointed at him and he fled the area quickly which led to the crash. Investigation continuing.
