The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 7/30/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 7/31/2024, MPD received 443 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (69),East (95), Midtown (77), North (70), South (58), West (58), and Other (16). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 9:03pm to 1:13am due to calls for service.
North/Child Neglect – 7:06am: Officers responded to a report of a young child unattended outside. Family has a separate child neglect case open. Child Protective Services notified. Two children removed from the home.
South/Crash – 9:57am: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. bicyclist crash. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigation continuing.
West/Death Investigation – 11:19am: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (85-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
East/Domestic Disturbance – 2:40pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 38-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and resisting.
Central/Domestic Disturbance – 3:43pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 16-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.
East/Crash – 8:53pm: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. moped crash. The moped driver was transported to a local hospital with injuries. Investigation continuing. *The 54-year-old male driver of the moped was found to be impaired. He was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (4th offense). The other driver involved had an outstanding warrant and was transported to jail.
South/Runaway Juvenile – 10:01pm: A 14-year-old female subject was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. Subject located and she refused to go home. Officers disengaged and listed the juvenile as a runaway in the appropriate databases.
Central/Disturbance – 11pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 19-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
