The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 7/31/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 8/1/2024, MPD received 494 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (85),East (112), Midtown (72), North (82), South (59), West (79), and Other (5). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 5:40pm to 8:21pm due to calls for service.
South/Stolen Auto – 9:54am: A vehicle was reported stolen. Vehicle tracked, located and recovered.
East/Missing Adult – 11:11am: A 29-year-old female subject was reported missing. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases.
North/Death Investigation – 12:19pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (82-year-old female). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
Central/Death Investigation – 1:54pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject (33-year-old male) down. Lifesaving measures attempted. Subject pronounced deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Numerous empty alcohol bottles observed. Autopsy scheduled. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
Midtown/Disturbance – 5:18pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 17-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for physical abuse of a child and disorderly conduct.
West/Traffic Arrest – 5:29pm: A traffic stop was attempted and the 30-year-old male driver/subject fled. Contact was attempted at the residence where the vehicle was registered to. The driver/subject fled on foot, gained access to a roof of a multi-family complex and threatened to jump. Negotiations took place and the subject ultimately came down off the roof. A loaded handgun was located in a duffle bag the subject had on him. The subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, eluding, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a machine gun, burglary while armed with a dangerous weapon, failure to comply, possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of Schedule II narcotics, resisting, criminal damage to property, and a probation hold.

Central/Disturbance – 12:28am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving two subjects (58-year-old male and 40-year-old male). Both subjects were arrested for physical abuse to an elder with a hate crime enhancer and disorderly conduct. The 40-year-old male was also arrested on a probation hold.
Midtown/Intoxicated Driver – 2:33am: A 29-year-old female driver/subject struck several signs on University Ave. The subject was contacted. The subject lied about driving. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense).
