The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 8/6/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 8/7/2024, MPD received 473 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (76),East (102), Midtown (99), North (74), South (54), West (61), and Other (7). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

North/Disturbance – 7:52am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, strangulation, false imprisonment, and simply battery.
Central/Trespassing – 8:43am: Officers responded to a business for an unwanted subject (31-year-old male) who was banned from the premises. The subject was arrested on a city ordinance for trespassing and conveyed to the jail to post on the citation.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 9:04am: An 18-year-old male subject, with outstanding probable cause charges, was in court on a separate matter and taken into custody without incident (strangulation, battery, disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property).
Central/Death Investigation – 1:34pm: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (66-year-old female). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
Central/Check Person – 2:32pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. Attempts made to make contact the subject at the residence. The subject was heard yelling and throwing something at the door. Officers ended up disengaging for now.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 3:39pm: A 51-year-old female subject was initially cited/released for urinating in a public place. The subject however ripped up her citation and started to cause a disturbance. As officers took the subject into custody, she resisted them. The subject was arrested for resisting and transported to jail.
East/Disturbance – 4:44pm: Officers responded to a fight at the mall. A 22-year-old male subject was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct.
West/Drug Incident – 9:23pm: Officers responded to a report of an unconscious subject. Officers rendered lifesaving aid and the subject was transported to a local hospital where they were admitted.
North/Disturbance – 9:56pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for resisting.
Central/Domestic Disturbance – 10:46pm: Officers met with a victim who reported disturbances with her boyfriend/subject (24-year-old male). Probable cause developed to arrest/charge the subject, who remains at-large.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 1:38am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 46-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for battery.
