The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 8/14/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 8/15/2024, MPD received 458 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (79),East (108), Midtown (66), North (70), South (56), West (63), and Other (16). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 4:33am: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver/subject (34-year-old male) and passenger did not have a consistent statement of why they were in the area. A search of the vehicle yielded a concealed large-fixed blade knife. The driver/subject is a convicted felon. The subject was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon. The passenger was released.
Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 7am: Search warrant executed. A 60-year-old male subject was arrested on numerous counts of possession of child pornography.
Midtown/Mental Health Response – 11:30am: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of a Chapter 51 return. Journey Mental Health plugged in. Final outcome/placement pending.
Midtown/Disturbance – 11:54am: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject causing a disturbance. Emergency detention sought/approved. Final outcome/placement pending. *Fitchburg PD took this call over as the subject initially caused a disturbance in Fitchburg.
West/Adult Arrested Person – 1:30pm: A wanted subject (26-year-old male) was arrested and transported to jail.
Midtown/Missing Adult – 2:38pm: A 62-year-old female subject was reported as missing. Attempt to locate aired. Silver Alert issued. Areas checked. Mounted Patrol located the subject safe.
North/Death Investigation – 3:02pm: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (53-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
North/Disturbance – 3:52pm: Several subjects got into a heated argument. A gun was observed, but not removed from the holster. Several subjects were issued disorderly conduct citations for their role.
East/Domestic Disturbance – 9:37pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 68-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, battery, abuse to elder, and bail jumping.
West/Disturbance – 11:47pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 27-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct (2 counts). Additional charges may be forthcoming.
Central/Disturbance – 11:59pm: Officers observed a 51-year-old male subject causing a disturbance. The subject was cited for having open intoxicants and arrested for disorderly conduct.
