The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 8/21/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 8/22/2024, MPD received 492 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (101),East (93), Midtown (70), North (88), South (67), West (67), and Other (6). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

South/Traffic Arrest – 7:10am: A traffic stop was conducted. K9 responded and alerted on the vehicle. Search yields drugs/paraphernalia. A 32-year-old female subject was arrested for illegally obtained prescription pills, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony bail jumping. A 40-year-old male subject was arrested for possession of schedule I/II narcotics and a probation violation.

Central/Theft – 7:45am: An unknown subject stole a victim's satchel. Investigation continuing.

South/Domestic Disturbance – 11:38am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 29-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, a probation violation, and felony bail jumping.

East/Death Investigation – 1:43pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (86-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

West/Theft from Auto – 2:10pm: A firearm and magazines were reported stolen from a vehicle. The gun was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

Midtown/Crash – 2:32pm: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. e-bike crash. The bicyclist sustained minor injuries. The driver (82-year-old male) was cited for not yielding to a pedestrian.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 4:20pm: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance that occurred the night before involving a 43-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for battery (2 counts), intimidation of a victim (2 counts), and criminal damage to property (all domestic-related charges).

East/Missing Adult – 7:31pm: A 19-year-old male subject (with mental health/medical concerns) was reported as missing from his group/care home. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 9:12pm: Officers received a report of domestic violence involving a 29-year-old male subject. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.

West/Domestic Disturbance – 9:26pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, strangulation, false imprisonment, and criminal damage to property.

Midtown/Strong Armed Robbery – 11:10pm: A victim reported being approached by 3 young male subjects who asked him for a dollar. The victim told them no and was then physically attacked by the male subjects. The subjects fled. The victim sustained visible injuries and had their phone/cash stolen from them. Two subjects matching the descriptions were contacted/detained. Investigation continuing.

North/Residential Burglary – 1:02am: Officers responded to a residence for as report of an unknown subject inside. The subject was reportedly covered in blood and said he had been shot. The residents fled the house and contacted police. The subject (36-year-old male) was contacted and not found to have been shot. The subject was arrested for trespassing, burglary, criminal damage to property, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
