The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 8/27/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 8/28/2024, MPD received 490 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (92),East (80), Midtown (85), North (85), South (65), West (71), and Other (12). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

North/Adult Arrested Person – 6:45am: Search warrant executed at a residence. A 39-year-old male subject was arrested on numerous charges of possession with child pornography. Additional charges may be forthcoming. Investigation continuing.
South/Crash – 9:01am: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. Driver remained on scene and cooperative. Investigation continuing.
South/Runaway Juvenile – 9:57am: A 15-year-old female subject was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile has a history of running away. She was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
Central/Death Investigation – 10:03am: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 76-year-old male. Entry made to the residence and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office notified. Nothing suspicious identified.
West/Missing Adult – 11:51am: A 70-year-old female subject was reported as missing. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The subject has been listed as missing in the appropriate databases.
North/Death Investigation – 12:44pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (44-year-old female). Entry made to the residence and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Drug paraphernalia observed. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
South/Mental Health Response – 1:48pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was contacted, transported to a local hospital, and voluntarily admitted. Officers disengaged.
West/Juvenile Arrest – 2:14pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 16-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for criminal damage to property.
East/Death Investigation – 7:23pm: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (73-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
East/Theft from Auto – 10:26pm: Officers responded to a report of a theft from auto occurring. A 40-year-old male subject was contacted and subsequently cited for entry to vehicle without owner's consent and arrested on a probation/parole hold.

North/Domestic Disturbance – 12:18am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 37-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, physical abuse to a child, and disorderly conduct.
