The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 9/16/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 9/17/2024, MPD received 508 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (91),East (93), Midtown (88), North (90), South (59), West (77), and Other (10). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 2:24pm to 4:04pm due to calls for service.

Central/Check Person – 10:13am: A subject was contacted reference a Chapter 51 return. The subject was transported to a local hospital. The subject was left in the care of medical staff and officers disengaged. *Subject subsequently transported to Winnebago. Probable cause also developed to arrest the subject after their release.

North/Crash – 12:23pm: Officers responded to a 3-vehicle crash. Investigation continuing.

Midtown/Death Investigation – 1:58pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (81-year-old female). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

East/Disturbance – 4:53pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 15-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed, criminal damage to property, and threats to law enforcement.

Central/Disturbance – 8:29pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 53-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The subject was also cited for failure to have a bike light, open intoxicants, and disorderly conduct.

West/Death Investigation – 9:40pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (69-year-old female). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

South/Battery – 10:47pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 27-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for simply battery.

North/Stolen Auto – 3:04am: A stolen vehicle was observed and a traffic stop was attempted. The driver/vehicle did not stop. The driver attempted an off-road maneuver and got stuck in a ditch. The occupants all bailed on foot but were apprehended and arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent (17-year-old female, 13-year-old male, 14-year-old male, 14-year-old male, 16-year-old female).
