The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 9/27/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 9/30/2024, MPD received 1,319 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (260),East (262), Midtown (213), North (198), South (155), West (204), and Other (27). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

West/Found Person – 2:58am: A non-verbal adult was located in the roadway. Subject's identify not known. Group home identified and the subject was returned home.

East/Road Rage – 7:51am: Officers responded to a road rage/hit-and-run incident. One of the involved parties received a citation for reckless driving and hit-and-run.

East/Juvenile Arrest – 8:15am: A 12-year-old male subject physically assaulted another juvenile. The subject was turned into the police by his grandmother. The juvenile was arrested for battery (2 counts) and criminal damage to property. The juvenile was processed and released to his grandmother.

Central/Check Person – 9:45am: Officers responded to a report of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. An emergency detention was sought and approved. The subject was subsequently transported to Winnebago. Criminal charges also pending for the subject.

South/Intoxicated Driver – 10:21am: Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated driver/subject (61-year-old female). The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).

South/Domestic Disturbance – 2:17pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and battery. The subject grabbed an officer's magazine during her arrest. The subject further was able to grab an officer's firearm holster and actively resisted. The subject was charged with resisting causing soft tissue injury and attempt to disarm a peace officer.  

North/Adult Arrested Person – 5:01pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 37-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, possession of stolen property, obstructing, unlawful use of a computerized telephone, probable cause/charges from a previous incident, and bail jumping.

Central/Disturbance – 10:54pm: Officers responded to multiple reports of a disturbance. A 37-year-old female subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and battery.

North/Disturbance – 1:30am: A subject staggered into the parking lot at the North Police District and reported to have been stabbed during a robbery attempt. The subject was transported to a local hospital. A second subject, who admitted to stabbing the other subject, was contacted. The injured person refused to leave the residence when asked to and got aggressive with the tenant. The tenant stabbed the subject out of fear for their safety. No charges substantiated at this time. Investigation continuing.

West/Disturbance – 2:11am: Officers responded to a disturbance. A 19-year-old male subject was arrested for physical abuse to a child (2 counts). A 21-year-old male subject was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 5:13am: A 46-year-old female subject, wanted, was observed and taken into custody for possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a probation/parole warrant.

Central/Disturbance – 5:15am: Officers were flagged down regarding an active disturbance involving a 27-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct.

East/Non-Residential Burglary – 5:35am: Officers responded to a burglary alarm at a business and found the front window shattered. A suspect stole alcohol. A 32-year-old male subject entered the damaged business to also steal alcohol. He was arrested for burglary.

East/Disturbance – 6:18am: Officers responded to sounds of a disturbance and located a 32-year-old subject (same subject involved in the non-residential burglary listed above) fighting a 44-year-old male subject. The 32-year-old was arrested for the burglary mentioned above and the other subject was arrested for battery, disorderly conduct while armed, and resisting.

West/Stolen Auto – 9:42am: A vehicle was reported stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

East/Death Investigation – 10:47am: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (87-year-old male). Lifesaving measures attempted but not successful. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

North/Check Person – 12:16pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was contacted, taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. Journey Mental Health consulted. Final outcome pending.

West/Injured Person – 12:49pm: A subject arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Investigation continuing. * The victim (33-year-old male) was arrested for bail jumping. A 32-year-old female subject was arrested for obstructing. Investigation continuing.

North/Recovered Stolen Auto – 5:16pm: An officer located a vehicle stolen from Beaver Dam. Vehicle towed.

North/Adult Arrested Person – 6:49pm: A 33-year-old female subject was arrested for child neglect after locking her suicidal child out of their hotel room. The subject was also arrested for resisting.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 7:45pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject (48-year-old male) exposing himself. Officers arrived in the area and the subject attempted to flee on foot. The subject was apprehended and arrested for disorderly conduct (2 counts), resisting, possession of drug paraphernalia, 2 outstanding warrants, and active probable cause.   

Central/Disturbance – 8:45pm: Officers responded to a disturbance. A subject reported being held against their will and sexually assaulted. Subject detained. Investigation continuing. * A 54-year-old male subject was arrested for 2nd degree sexual assault (3 counts), false imprisonment, domestic battery, and disorderly conduct.

South/Crash – 11:31pm: An intoxicated driver (57-year-old male) struck a squad vehicle that was out on a traffic stop. The driver continued on for a short distance but stopped due to vehicle damage. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 3:02am: Officers responded to a residence after the caller reported someone breaking into their home. A 23-year-old male subject was located on the back porch. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and cited for trespassing.

East/Check Person – 5:03am: A suicidal subject was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation for an emergency detention. Journey Mental Health plugged in. Emergency detention supported and the subject was subsequently transported to Winnebago.

East/Battery – 12:44pm: Officers were at Porchlight on a separate incident when a disturbance was reported. Probable cause developed to arrest a 46-year-old male subject, who remains at-large.

North/Adult Arrested Person – 1:54pm: Officers responded to a report of a violation of a court order involving a 39-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for violation of a harassment injunction.

East/Disturbance – 2:13pm: An officer observed two subjects (56-year-old male and 57-year-old male) physically assaulting one another. Both subjects detained. Both subjects were issued citations for disorderly conduct. The 56-year-old subject was transported to jail on a probation/parole hold.

Midtown/Check Person – 3:12pm: Officers responded to a report of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was armed with a knife when officers arrived. The subject was safely contacted and the knife was recovered. The subject was transported to a local hospital where an emergency detention was requested. Final outcome pending. *Emergency detention approved and the subject was transported to Winnebago.  

North/Child Neglect – 5:50pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of several children at a local motel.  There were concerns for supervision of the children as well as filthy conditions.  Officers responded and as they did two adults (parents) just returned to the motel. A young child, who is autistic, was found to have been left alone. The motel room was found to be in deplorable conditions with human and animal waste on the floor. Child Protective Services was contacted but they declined to respond. Both parents (34-year-old female and 35-year-old male) were arrested for child neglect. The children were released to stay with a family friend.

South/Adult Arrested Person – 1:16am: Officers responded to a report of an unwanted subject (38-year-old male) who refused to leave the premises and was attempting to grope other patrons. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and 4th degree sexual assault (2 counts).

North/Disturbance – 2:10am: Officers responded to a report of a 27-year-old male subject physically assaulting another subject. The subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, battery, disorderly conduct, and criminal damage to property.
