The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 10/4/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 10/7/2024, MPD received 1,318 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (276),East (257), Midtown (201), North (201), South (158), West (203), and Other (22). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 7:09pm to 8:09pm due to calls for service.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 5:21am: Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault. A 43-year-old male subject was arrested for 4th degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct.

West/Intoxicated Driver – 11:41am: Officers responded to multiple reports of a driver/vehicle that struck another vehicle, with possible injuries. Property damage only identified; no physical injuries. A driver was found impaired and is being processed for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. Investigation continuing.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 12:09pm: A 29-year-old male subject was taken into custody on a probation/parole warrant.

Midtown/Crash – 12:11pm: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. building crash. The driver sustained minor injuries. DOT condition report reference the driver was submitted. No citations issued.

Midtown/Mental Health Conveyance – 1:47pm: Officers received a request for an emergency detention of a subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital. Journey Mental Health plugged in and supported the emergency detention. The subject was subsequently turned over to a third-party transport for conveyance to Winnebago.

Midtown/Check Person – 4:44pm: Officers contacted a subject with outstanding probable cause. The subject was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Final outcome pending.

North/Death Investigation – 5:07pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 64-year-old male subject. The subject was located deceased at his residence. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.

Central/Disturbance – 5:31pm: A victim reported having a knife pulled on them by an unknown subject. A witness reported they observed a disturbance, but no knife was involved. Investigation continuing.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 9:43pm: A stolen vehicle was observed by officers. A traffic stop was conducted. A 28-year-old male subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent. A 33-year-old male subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent (passenger) and a probation hold. Drug charges may be forthcoming pending results of suspected heroin located.

Central/Injured Person – 10:18pm: Officers responded to the 500 block of E. Johnson St for a report of a subject who had been stabbed. The subject was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigation continuing.

Midtown/Bar Check – 11:41pm: A bar check was conducted at a business on Regent St.  There were 131 underage patrols cited for underage drinking/liquor consumption.

North/Stolen Auto – 1:13am: A moped was reported stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The moped was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

South/Adult Arrested Person – 8:40am: A 61-year-old male subject was arrested for unlawful trespassing and transported to jail to post on the citation.

Midtown/Disturbance – 3:30pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 49-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.

West/Arrested Juveniles – 3:51pm: Two minors (both 13-years of age, males) were arrested for entry into locked vehicle, attempt to commit operating a motor vehicle without consent, criminal damage to property, and possession of burglarious tools.   

East/Intoxicated Driver – 5:10pm: A traffic stop was conducted after a squad was almost struck by a 38-year-old male subject/driver. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (5th offense).

East/Missing Adult – 6:13pm: A 57-year-old male subject was reported as missing. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases.

Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 10:20pm: A 26-year-old male subject was arrested for battery after punching a stranger in the face.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 11:32pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Priority calls only from 7:39pm to 11:16pm due to calls for service.

Central/Check Person – 12:09am: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Journey Mental Health plugged in. Emergency detention not supported at this time. Officers disengaged.

Central/Check Area – 2am: Officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the area of State St./W. Gilman St. Numerous casings were located as well as two damaged vehicles. A subject was called in with injuries. The subject was transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound (non-life threatening). Investigation continuing.

South/Battery – 3:50am: Officers responded to a report of a battery. A victim was located with injuries and transported to a local hospital. Investigation continuing.

Central/Domestic Disturbance – 4:43am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 59-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery while armed, domestic criminal damage to property (2 counts), domestic disorderly conduct, and resisting.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 11:30am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 42-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct (3 counts).

South/Domestic Disturbance – 1:05pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 33-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed.

East/Check Area – 7:22pm: Officers responded to the 200 block of N. Thompson Drive for multiple reports of shots fired. A vehicle was found damaged from gunfire. Areas checked. Investigation continuing. *A 17-year-old male subject was arrested on resisting. Investigation continues.

North/Injured Child – 8:06pm: Officers responded to a local hospital for concerning injuries to an infant. Investigation continuing.

North/Domestic Disturbance – 9:47pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 27-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 11:20pm: A subject reported an unknown male subject pointed a gun at them and threatened them. A 17-year-old male subject was detained. A loaded gun was found on the subject, along with marijuana. The subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, disorderly conduct while armed, intentionally pointing a firearm at another, resisting, obstructing, possession of THC, carrying a concealed weapon, and felony bail jumping. A parole hold was also placed on the subject.
