The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 10/21/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 10/22/2024, MPD received 450 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (84),East (109), Midtown (54), North (82), South (55), West (56), and Other (10). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Central/Residential Burglary – 4:20am: Officers responded to a residential burglary in progress.  Suspect fled prior to arrival of officers. A 43-year-old male subject in the area was contacted and found to be in possession of items with other people's names. Investigation continuing.

North/Crash – 6:08am: Officers responded to a pedestrian vs. vehicle crash. The pedestrian sustained a broken arm. The driver/vehicle did not remain on scene. Investigation continuing.

East/Theft from Auto – 8:26am: A gun was reported stolen from a vehicle. The gun was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

South/Domestic Disturbance – 2:52pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 22-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed.

Midtown/Juvenile Arrests – 3:08pm: A group of juveniles entered Memorial High School and caused a disturbance. The juveniles were chased through the school parking lot by another group and left the area. Officers were alerted to this incident after it occurred. Officers checked the area and located/observed a group of juveniles who took off on foot as officers closed in. A foot pursuit occurred, and two juveniles were apprehended (15-year-old male and 14-year-old male). The subjects were arrested for resisting and trespassing. Investigation continuing.

Central/Stolen Auto – 4:57pm: A vehicle was reported stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 10:28pm: Officers responded to reports of flames coming from a shed. A 30-year-old female and a 34-year-old male subject were arrested for trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia. The female subject was also charged with resisting.

Midtown/Check Area – 11:22pm: Officers responded to reports of shots fired (Verona Rd/Britta Parkway). A vehicle/occupants leaving the area was contacted at a local convenience store. The subjects denied any knowledge of a shooting. A search of the vehicle yielded a gun. Both subjects (18-year-old male and 18-year-old male) were arrested for carrying a concealed weapon – party to a crime. One of the subjects was also charged with felony bail jumping. No shell casings or damage was located.

Central/Trespassing – 3:04am: Officers responded to a trespassing complaint. Contact made with a 77-year-old male subject who is uncooperative with officers. The subject was arrested for obstructing. Two other subjects were arrested for trespassing (46-year-old male; unknown information about the second subject at the time of this writing).
