The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 10/31/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 11/01/2024, MPD received 501 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (106), East (119), Midtown (74), North (80), South (48), West (63), and Other (11). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Priority calls only due to calls for service: 9:38am to 11:10am, 3:23pm to 4:17pm, and 6:53pm to 8:37pm.

MIDTOWN: Adult Arrested Person – 7:38 am. Officers responded to an address and located a man who had probable cause for his arrest. Officers consulted with Journey Mental Health. The man was placed into protective custody under an emergency detention and conveyed to a hospital.
NORTH: Death Investigation – 9:29 am. Property management discovered a 72-year-old tenant deceased in his residence. Nothing suspicious on scene.
SOUTH: Death Investigation – 9:50 am. Officers responded to a residence where a neighbor requested a check welfare. Officers discovered a 81-year-old man deceased. Nothing suspicious on scene.
CENTRAL: Disturbance – 10:10 am. Officers responded to the Beacon where the 42-year-old male suspect was trespassing and threatening staff. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for disorderly conduct. Suspect is at large.
EAST: Juvenile Arrest – 1:22 pm. Officers responded to a school where staff believed the 14-year-old male suspect had a gun. The suspect was conveyed to JRC and charged with adjudicated delinquent in possession of a firearm, theft of firearm, and possession of firearm on school grounds.
MIDTOWN: Death Investigation – 3:21 pm. Officers responded to a residence where a 54-year-old man's wife found him unresponsive. Life saving efforts were unsuccessful. Nothing suspicious on scene.
MIDTOWN: Check Person – 5:32 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the 45-year-old male suspect was acting erratically and speaking nonsensically. He then ran into traffic and aggressively approached passersby. Officers determined the suspect had ingested a THC gummy. The suspect was charged with resisting and disorderly conduct.
SOUTH: Traffic Crash – 9:41 pm. Officers responded to the beltline at Todd Dr for a single vehicle crash. The 31-year-old male driver was arrested for OWI 1st offense.
CENTRAL: Disturbance – 11:38 pm. Officers responded to a bar where staff had escorted the 31-year-old female suspect outside but she refused to leave. The suspect shoved an employee and was pounding on the door to the establishment. The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, trespassing and resisting.

CENTRAL: Battery – 1:04 am. The victim reported that the 22-year-old male suspect punched him and called him derogatory names. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and battery.
