City-Wide Notable Calls 11/1/2024 to 11/04/2024

The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

11/1

East/Domestic Disturbance – 7:23am: A 41-year-old male subject turned himself in for a domestic incident that occurred in September. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct (domestic) and criminal damage to property.

East/Mental Health Conveyance – 8:35am: Officers requested for a Chapter 51 return. The subject will be transported to a Winnebago once a medical clearance is obtained. *Transport completed.

West/Sexual Assault – 8:53am: Officers responded to the jail for an arrested subject who wished to file a sexual assault report. Investigation continuing. *Suspect identified and contacted. The suspect invoked his right to an attorney. Investigation continuing.

North/Juvenile Arrest – 10:12am: A 15-year-old male subject was arrested on a capias and transported to the Juvenile Reception Center.

West/Adult Arrested Person – 3:08pm: Officers responded to a report of an unwanted subject (28-year-old male). Officers made contact with the subject who refused to leave the premises voluntarily. As officers attempted to physically remove the subject, he resisted. The subject was arrested for resisting, battery to law enforcement, and issued a citation for trespassing.

Central/Death Investigation – 3:57pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (69-year-old male). The subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

Central/Sexual Assault – 5:23pm: A victim reported a sexual assault that occurred in September. Investigation continuing.

Midtown/Crash – 5:32pm: Officers responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash. The driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver was found to have suffered a medical event. This crash resulted in two other crashes while officers were conducting traffic control for approximately an hour and a half.

South/Check Area – 9:28pm: Officers responded to reports of shots fired on Manor Drive. Shell casings located. A building was struck. No injuries reported. Investigation continuing.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 4:30am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 33-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, disorderly conduct (2 counts), and simple battery

South/Check Area – 7:05am: Caller reported hearing gunshots (Sunfish Court). Neighbors contacted. Fitchburg PD dispatched to a legal hunting ground in their jurisdiction. Nothing determined to be suspicious.

East/Assist MFD – 11:09am: Officers responded, along with EMS/Fire, to a report of a structure fire. Building evacuated. An unconscious subject was located and transported to a local hospital.  MFD has the lead on this investigation.

East/Check Person – 1:45am: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. CARES requested to respond as well. Investigation continuing.  *Subject transported to a local hospital and admitted with medical/health concerns. Emergency detention to be sought once medically cleared.

Midtown/Disturbance – 3:34pm: Officers responded to a report of a large fight in the 4300 block of Britta Parkway. Officers arrived and observed 30-40 people fighting in the street. Scene stabilized. Investigation continuing.

South/Adult Arrested Person – 4:50pm: Officers responded to a report of a 39-year-old male subject who caused a disturbance on a metro bus. The subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of meth, and bail jumping.

West/Domestic Disturbance – 5:18pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 58-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

Central/Disturbance – 9:48pm: Officers responded to a report of a fight involving a dozen or so subjects. A 19-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct. A second 19-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and strangulation. Both subjects received hate crime enhancers on their charges.

11/3

East/Adult Arrested Person – 1:18am: Officers responded to a report of an unwanted subject (46-yaer-old male). The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed, resisting, and felony bail jumping.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 2:29am: A 31-year-old male subject was arrested for felony bail jumping and possession with intent to deliver cocaine after he was observed loitering in a lot. 

West/Adult Arrested Person – 8:12am: Officers responded to a report of an unwanted subject (45-year-old male). The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct (2 counts), criminal damage to property (2 counts), and outstanding probable cause.

Central/Runaway Juvenile – 8:42am: A 15-year-old male subject was reported as a runaway from a shelter. The subject was located and detained on an apprehension request from JRC staff.  The subject was transported to the Juvenile Reception Center.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 9:35am: A 20-year-old male subject refused to leave the premises of a business when asked. The subject began to threaten staff. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting/obstructing, and an outstanding warrant.

North/Check Area – 11:49am: A caller reported a disturbance and reported seeing subjects hiding guns in their backpacks. The subjects left on a metro bus and a high-risk stop was conducted in Sun Prairie. 3 juveniles were arrested. 3 facsimile firearms were located/recovered. MPD assisted with the traffic stop and then disengaged.

Central/Residential Burglary – 12:21pm: Officers responded to a residential burglary where electronics were reported missing/stolen. Investigation continuing.

East/Found Person – 1:51pm: Officers called after child found alone in the middle of the street. CPS contacted.

Central/Sexual Assault – 4:08 pm: Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault. Two uninvolved people intervened and the suspect ran off. Investigation ongoing. 

Central/Battery 
 – 8:42 pm: Police called after a woman was attacked in the downtown area. Victim was not in the area when police arrived. Probable cause not developed. 

Midtown/Trespass  – 9:07 pm: Resident called police when he arrived home to find a stranger taking a shower in his house. 

North/Domestic  – 10:10 
pm: Man assaulted a woman during a fight over a dating app. Probable cause exists to arrest the suspect for domestic battery and false imprisonment. Investigation ongoing.
