The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 11/11/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 11/12/2024, MPD received 460 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (61),East (87), Midtown (71), North (96), South (60), West (73), and Other (12). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

South/Sexual Assault – 2:58am: Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault. Investigation continuing.
South/Death Investigation – 9:08am: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (66-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
North/Check Person – 12:38pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a subject having a mental health crisis. The subject was taken into protective custody and conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation. An emergency detention was sought/approved. The subject was transported to a local facility for placement.
Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 1:02pm: A 28-year-old male subject was arrested on a probation/parole warrant and possession of heroin.
East/Found Person – 5:39pm: A young child was found unattended at a convenience store. The child was identified and returned home. The child's mother had been sleeping when the child left the home. The child has a history of escaping lately. Child Protective Services notified.
East/Check Person – 6:59pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and transported to a local hospital. The subject was voluntarily admitted and officers disengaged.
East/Adult Arrested Person – 8:03pm: Officers responded to a report of sounds of a disturbance. Contact made with a 24-year-old male subject who was found to have an active warrant. Probable cause not developed regarding the disturbance. The subject was transported to jail.
Central/Disturbance – 9:36pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 72-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and battery.
