The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 11/12/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 11/13/2024, MPD received 520 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (58),East (106), Midtown (97), North (100), South (68), West (80), and Other (11). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Midtown/Check Person – 8:43am: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject refusing to leave the premises. The subject was cited for trespassing to a medical facility yesterday. Emergency detention sought and not approved.

Central/Runaway Juvenile – 9:30am: A 16-year-old male subject was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

Central/Check Person – 10:28am: Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Final outcome pending. *Emergency detention sought/approved.

Midtown/Intoxicated Driver – 4:07pm: A caller reported a driver (24-year-old male) passed out behind the wheel. The subject was contacted and found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 5:39pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 39-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.

North/Death Investigation – 6:53pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (52-year-old male). Entry made to the residence and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.

South/Crash – 9:17pm: Officers responded a two-vehicle crash. One of the driver's (38-year-old male) was determined to be impaired. The other driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The intoxicated driver fled the scene on foot but was apprehended. He was arrested for reckless driving causing bodily harm and resisting. Additional charges forthcoming.  

West/Check Area – 9:25pm: Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. An 18-year-old male subject was observed running from the vehicle. The subject was located hiding. The subject was arrested on outstanding probable cause.

Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 10:39pm: A 53-year-old female subject threatened medical staff over the phone and made statements about going to the facility in person. The subject was contacted and arrested for disorderly conduct, terrorist threats, and discharge of bodily fluids at a public safety worker.
