The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 12/6/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 12/9/2024, MPD received 1,137 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (214),East (237), Midtown (172), North (191), South (126), West (173), and Other (24). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

East/Crash – 3:56am: Officers responded to a fatality crash (N. Stoughton Rd/Hwy 30). Incident Report on MPD's website released – https://www.cityofmadison.com/police/newsroom/incidentreports/incident.cfm?id=31275. Investigation continuing. * A 25-year-old male driver was arrested for homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and 2nd degree reckless endangering safety.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 7:36am: Officers responded to a report of an unwanted subject (45-year-old female) who refused to leave the premises. The subject was arrested for resisting and received a citation for trespassing.
South/Runaway Juvenile – 9:51am: A 13-year-old female subject was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases. *Juvenile located.
South/Check Person – 1:43pm: Officers responded to detox reference a possible suicidal subject. The subject voluntarily was transported to a local hospital and officers disengaged.
North/Adult Arrested Person – 3:58pm: A driver/vehicle took off at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was later located parked. Two subjects, walking away from the vehicle, were contacted. A 36-year-old female subject was arrested for possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of fentanyl with intent to deliver, and possession of heroin with intent to deliver.
West/Check Area – 9:44pm: Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1000 block of Gammon Lane. Areas searched. No evidence of shots fired located at this time.

East/Death Investigation – 12:09am: Officers responded, along with EMS, to a report of a subject (71-year-old male) having difficulty breathing. The subject became pulseless/non-breathing. Life saving measures were attempted, but not successful. Nothing suspicious identified.
Central/Residential Burglary – 8:04am: Officers responded to a residence after a burglary had occurred overnight with keys stolen. Caller reported people were in the residence that did not live there. A 32-year-old male subject was arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property, bail jumping, and resisting.
East/Child Abuse – 10:30am: Officers responded to a report of physical abuse to a child involving a 20-year-old female subject (contact not made by police). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
West/Adult Arrested Person – 10:45am: Officers responded to a 911 disconnect. A disturbance was found to have occurred where a 34-year-old male subject pointed a gun at another subject. Gun located/recovered. The subject was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of cocaine, and reckless endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon (domestic – 2 counts).
East/Intoxicated Driver – 12:14pm: Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash with a 37-year-old male driver/subject fleeing the scene. The subject was located and contacted. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, hit-and-run to occupied vehicle, and possession of meth.
East/Recovered Stolen Auto – 1:45pm: A vehicle that had been parked for over a week was called in and found to have been reported as stolen. Registered owner contacted. Investigation continuing.
Central/Disturbance – 1:57pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 48-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Central/Domestic Disturbance – 2:11pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
East/Residential Burglary – 7:09pm: Officers responded to a report of an unknown subject in a residence. Contact made with a 42-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested to burglary (2 counts).
North/Intoxicated Driver – 8:13pm: A driver/vehicle struck a pole which got knocked off its base, into the lanes of traffic, and caused collisions with 3 additional vehicles. A 52-year-old male driver was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).
Central/Bar Check – 9:53pm: Officers conducted a bar check and found that that bar did not have a licensed bartender and approximately 28% of the patrons were under the legal drinking age. Investigation continuing.

East/Death Investigation – 2:12am: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing infant. The infant was pronounced deceased. Parents and child were in the same bed sleeping when the incident occurred. Investigation continuing.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 2:48am: A 27-year-old male subject was observed in a parking lot that was posted for no trespassing. Contact made with the subject who lied about his identity. A handgun was found concealed on the subject. The subject was arrested for unlawful trespassing, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), carrying a concealed weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, and obstructing.
West/Check Area – 3:19am: Officers responded to reports of shots fired and vehicles speeding away from the area near Frisch Rd and Woodington Way. Investigation continuing. * Several casings located.
East/Strong Armed Robbery – 9:38am: A victim reported that they were robbed by two unknown male subjects. Cash taken from the victim. Investigation continuing.
South/Check Area – 1:07pm: Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 2900 block of Turbot Drive. Damage observed to a residence. A vehicle was also found to have been struck by gunfire. No injuries reported. Investigation continuing.
Central/Battery – 2:20pm: A victim was physically assaulted by an unknown male subject. Probable cause developed. Investigation continuing.
South/Adult Arrested Person – 4:23pm: An officer heard a crash and observed the vehicle involved continued driving. Traffic stop conducted. The vehicle was being driven by a 15-year-old male subject. The juvenile was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent and issued traffic citations.
East/Domestic Disturbance – 5:18pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 19-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
Central/Juvenile Arrests – 7:15pm: Officers responded to reports of several crimes (theft of an e-bike, theft of scooter, strong arm robbery) involving the same 3 subjects. The 3 subjects were contacted and subsequently arrested. A 13-year-old male subject was arrested for strong armed robbery, disorderly conduct while armed, and theft. A 13-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and theft (party to a crime). A 14-year-old male subject was arrested for battery, strong armed robbery (party to a crime), theft (party to a crime), and disorderly conduct (party to a crime). A facsimile firearm was recovered.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 9:58pm: A traffic stop was conducted and the driver/subject (61-year-old male) was arrested for possession of a concealed knife by a felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
South/Child Abuse – 11:16pm: A 37-year-old female subject was arrested for child abuse. Child Protective Services notified.
Midtown/Disturbance – 11:41pm: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject causing a disturbance. Emergency detention sought/approved. The subject was transported to Winnebago.
