The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 12/9/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 12/10/2024, MPD received 438 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (57),East (89), Midtown (87), North (77), South (50), West (65), and Other (13). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Central/Armed Robbery – 4:35am: Officers responded to a report of a subject (36-year-old male) causing a disturbance, threatening staff, and stealing merchandise. The subject was arrested for substantial battery, theft, disorderly conduct (2 counts), armed robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, and resisting.
North/Stolen Auto – 6:20am: A vehicle was reported stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
East/Disturbance – 9:03am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 24-year-old female subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
East/Armed Robbery – 12:39pm: Officers responded to a bank for a robbery in progress involving a 46-year-old male subject. The subject fled the bank with cash. The subject was located and arrested for robbery of a financial institution, felony bail jumping, and possession of drug paraphernalia. South/Crash – 5:51pm: Officers responded to a traffic incident on Hwy 12 near Fish Hatchery Road where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased. Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 8:22pm: Officers responded to a local hospital for a 45-year-old female subject being combative with staff. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and bail jumping.
East/Domestic Disturbance – 11:23pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct.
East/Adult Arrested Person – 11:47pm: Officers responded to a business where a known shoplifter (24-year-old male) was present and gathering merchandise. The subject left the business with unpaid merchandise. The subject was contacted and arrested for retail theft, an outstanding warrant, resisting, bail jumping, and a probation hold.
