The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 12/18/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 12/19/2024, MPD received 430 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (61),East (98), Midtown (60), North (65), South (62), West (73), and Other (11). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Midtown/Stolen Auto – 4:59am: A vehicle was reported stolen. The vehicle had been left unlocked, unoccupied, and running. Vehicle listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
City-Wide/Assist Law Enforcement – 6:14am: Officers responded to a rollover crash (WB I-90) for the State Patrol who were unavailable. State Patrol ultimately did arrive on scene as well. Driver may have been driving too fast and hit a guard rail which caused their vehicle to roll. Minor injuries reported.
West/Stolen Auto – 6:37am: A vehicle was reported stolen. The vehicle had been left unlocked, unoccupied, and running. Vehicle listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
West/Domestic Disturbance – 9:11am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving two suspects (27-year-old female and 34-year-old male). Both subjects not on scene when officers arrived. Probable cause developed to arrest both subjects, who remain at-large.
East/Domestic Disturbance – 9:14am: Officers responded to a disturbance that took place the evening before involving a 32-year-old female subject. The victim sustained visible injuries. The subject was not able to be contacted. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
East/Mental Health Conveyance – 9:58am: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of a mental health evaluation/possible emergency detention. Final outcome pending.
West/Death Investigation – 11:51am: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (51-year-old male). The subject was located deceased at his residence. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
South/Sexual Assault of a Child – 1:57pm: Officers received a report of sexual assault of a child. Child Protective Services plugged in. Investigation continuing.
Midtown/Death Investigation – 2:55pm: Officers responded, along with EMS, to a report of a pulseless non-breathing infant. Lifesaving measures were attempted, but not successful. Investigation continuing.
East/Disturbance – 5:50pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving four subjects (19-year-old male, 13-year-old male, 13-year-old male, and 13-year-old male). All were arrested/charged with disorderly conduct while armed. The 19-year-old subject was also charged with retail theft and felony bail jumping (3 counts). Two of the 13-year-old subjects were also charged with retail theft.
Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 10:17pm: A 50-year-old male subject, wanted, was located and arrested on an outstanding probation warrant.
