The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 12/20/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 12/23/2024, MPD received 1,032 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (181),East (230), Midtown (173), North (199), South (101), West (127), and Other (21). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

North/Death Investigation – 8:25am: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (82-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
South/Assist MFD – 6:04pm: Officers responded, along with MFD, to a structure fire (residential garage). MPD assisted with traffic control. No injuries sustained.
Midtown/Check Person – 6:52pm: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention. Final outcome pending.
Midtown/Check Person – 7:02pm: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention. Final outcome pending.
Central/Injured Person – 7:19pm: A subject arrived at a local hospital with a stab wound to their hand (stitches needed). Victim reported to have approached by 3 unknown male subjects who started an altercation with them. Investigation continuing.
South/Injured Person – 8:13pm: Officers responded to a report that a subject had been stabbed in the hand. The weapon was determined to have been a scissors. Suspect identified. Investigation continuing.

East/Disturbance – 12:13am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 35-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for battery (2 counts) and disorderly conduct (2 counts). The subject was also issued a trespassing citation.
Central/Disturbance – 12:48am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 21-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for substantial battery.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 3:28am: Officers responded to a report of a 54-year-old male subject following two subjects. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and possession of meth.
Central/Disturbance – 3:38am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 64-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.
North/Residential Burglary – 3:57am: Officers responded to a residential burglary involving a 32-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for burglary.
North/Death Investigation – 7:01am: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (67-year-old male). Lifesaving measures attempted but not successful. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
East/Death Investigation – 9:22am: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (32-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Decedent had a history of mental health/substance abuse/medical concerns. Nothing suspicious identified.
Central/Check Person – 9:48am: A subject was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. Emergency detention sought/not approved. Subject left in the care of medical staff and officers disengaged.
West/Domestic Disturbance – 11:05am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 24-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic strangulation (2 counts), domestic battery, and domestic disorderly conduct.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 1:32pm: Officers responded to two incidents involving a 38-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct (2 counts).
Midtown/Mental Health Conveyance – 1:58pm: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention. Emergency detention sought/approved. Placement pending. Criminal charges also forthcoming.
North/Mental Health Conveyance – 5:49pm: A subject obtained a mental health evaluation at a local hospital. The subject was initially voluntary, but then became uncooperative. Emergency detention sought/approved. Transport to Winnebago pending.
West/Retail Theft – 6:09pm: Officers responded to a business for retail theft in progress involving two subjects (30-year-old male and 28-year-old male). Subjects located/detained. Merchandise recovered. Both subjects were arrested for retail theft.
North/Disturbance – 7:12pm: Officers responded to a disturbance with a handgun being displayed. Subjects contacted. Investigation continuing.
Midtown/Battery – 7:50pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
North/Battery – 8:45pm: Officers responded to a battery complaint involving a 49-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for battery.
North/Domestic Disturbance – 8:47pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 67-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery.
North/Check Area – 9:12pm: Officers responded to a report of an attempted burglary. There was a 15-minute time delay with this incident being reported. Investigation continuing.
Midtown/Assist EMS – 10:31pm: Officers responded, along with EMS, to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (16-year-old male). Naloxone administered. CCR performed. The subject was transported to a local hospital and is currently in critical condition. Investigation continuing.
West/Runaway Juvenile – 10:45pm: A 13-year-old female juvenile was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was entered as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 2:56am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 48-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for battery (2 counts), domestic disorderly conduct, disorderly conduct, disorderly conduct with a hate crime enhancer, criminal damage to property, and resisting.
East/Adult Arrested Person – 6:53am: A 19-year-old male subject, with an active warrant, was taken into custody and transported to jail.
North/Death Investigation – 10:09am: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (89-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
North/Domestic Disturbance – 1:32pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 30-year-old male subject. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
Midtown/Injured Person – 7:57pm: Officers responded, along with EMS, to an injured subject (47-year-old male). The subject was transported to a local hospital with significant injuries (not deemed to be life-threatening). Order-in citations issued to the subject for criminal damage to property and possession of meth. Subject left in the care of medical staff and officers disengaged. Investigation continuing.
East/Adult Arrested Person – 10:17pm: Officers responded to a threats complaint involving a 31-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, attempted criminal trespass, unlawful use of computer communications systems, and a DOC hold.
