The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Monday morning to Thursday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 12/30/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 1/2/2025, MPD received 1,112 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (195),East (243), Midtown (168), North (181), South (128), West (173), and Other (24). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 4:33pm to 4:06am due to calls for service.

East/Death Investigation – 7:29am: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (74-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

North/Check Person – 7:43am: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and had a knife on them. The subject was cooperative and dropped the knife. The subject was transported to a local hospital for a voluntary evaluation. Final outcome pending. *Subject voluntarily admitted and officers disengaged.

Central/Death Investigation – 12:06pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (21-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

East/Runaway Juvenile – 12:27pm: A 16-year-old female subject was reported as a runaway. The juvenile has a history of running away. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

North/Disturbance – 4:21pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 49-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and battery.

Central/Battery – 4:31pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 22-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and battery.

North/Check Person – 6:14pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject who cut themselves. The subject was transported to a local hospital. Evaluation pending. Final outcome pending. *Subject admitted to a local facility and officers disengaged.

South/Death Investigation – 7:13pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (65-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

East/Stolen Auto – 8:22pm: Officers responded to a report of a stolen auto. The vehicle was located, along with a 32-year-old subject, who attempted to flee on foot. The subject was apprehended. The subject was arrested and transported to jail. On the way to the jail, the subject became unresponsive. The subject was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Investigation continuing. *Subject did not survive. DCI leading the investigation.

Priority calls only from 4:37pm to 5:41pm due to calls for service.

North/Stolen Auto – 12:57am: A stolen vehicle was observed. Traffic stop attempted and the driver fled. Another law enforcement agency observed the vehicle and pursued it. The driver/vehicle went into a ditch. The driver (15-year-old male) attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent and resisting.

North/Runaway Juvenile – 3:17am: A 17-year-old female subject was reported as missing/runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was entered as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

North/Domestic Disturbance – 5:17am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 33-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.

Central/Disturbance – 7:36am: A victim reported that an unknown male subject pointed a gun at them and made a threatening statement. Investigation continuing.

East/Stolen Auto – 9:09am: A vehicle was reported stolen. Vehicle was located/recovered in Adams County.

Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 2:40pm: Officers responded to a retail theft in progress involving a 52-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for felony retail theft and misdemeanor bail jumping.

Midtown/Check Area – 4:07pm: Officers responded to a non-residential burglary. Building cleared. Investigation continuing.

West/Juvenile Arrest – 5:16pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 12-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for battery and released to a parent.

Midtown/Intoxicated Driver – 5:56pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject (57-year-old male) laying on the ground. A vehicle was located half in the roadway and half parked with the subject/driver banging on the dashboard. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).

East/Domestic Disturbance – 7:28pm: A 43-year-old male subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. The subject spit in the face of an officer at the jail. The subject was also charged with discharge of bodily fluid at a public safety worker and a probation/parole hold.

North/Adult Arrested Person – 8:27pm: A wanted subject (25-year-old female) lied to officers about her identity. Officers arrested the subject, who resisted them. The subject was arrested for resisting, possession of drug paraphernalia, and 6 outstanding warrants.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 11:30pm: A stolen vehicle was tracked down and a 30-year-old male subject was in the driver's seat. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent and misdemeanor bail jumping.

Priority calls only from 12:14am to approximately 5:45am due to calls for service.

Central/Disturbance – 12:28am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 24-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for 4th degree sexual assault, battery, and disorderly conduct.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 1:11am: Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person (17-year-old male) trying to enter residences and vehicles. The subject was contacted and arrested for disorderly conduct. The subject was also cited for trespassing.

West/Non-Residential Burglary – 2:11am: Officers responded to an alarm at a school. Officers arrived and observed several subjects inside the school. 3 juveniles (3 males, 14-years of age) were arrested for burglary and criminal damage to property (party to a crime, with a hate crime enhancer).  Two of the juveniles were also charged with possession of burglarious tools.

West/Adult Arrested Person – 6:40am: Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated subject (31-year-old male) who was causing a disturbance. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

South/Intoxicated Driver – 8:12am: Officers responded to a report of a subject (44-year-old male) passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense).

West/Disturbance – 8:37am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for resisting, felony bail jumping (5 counts), and misdemeanor bail jumping.

Central/Disturbance – 2:14pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 63-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for strangulation, disorderly conduct, felony bail jumping (3 counts), and misdemeanor bail jumping.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 2:26pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 54-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.

North/Sexual Assault – 3pm: Officers responded to a local hospital for a report of sexual assault. Investigation continuing.

West/Check Person – 3:19pm: Officers received information about a subject's declining mental state. The subject was contacted, placed into protective custody, and transported to a local hospital for an emergency detention evaluation. Final outcome pending. Criminal charges also forthcoming for the subject.  

East/Sexual Assault – 10:26pm: Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault. Investigation continuing.

East/Check Person – 10:59pm: Officers responded to check the welfare of an intoxicated subject who was possibly suicidal and armed with a knife. The subject was contacted, conveyed to a local hospital, and left in the care of medical staff. No legal action deemed necessary by police at this time.
