The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 1/2/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 1/3/2025, MPD received 372 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (53), East (80), Midtown (77), North (60), South (39), West (53), and Other (10). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Priority calls only from 8:50pm to 2:35am due to calls for service.

SOUTH: Check Person – 5:16 am. Officers responded to a hospital where a man said he found a woman in the Moorland Rd area and brought her in for medical care. Hospital staff determined the woman had drugs in her system but did not have significant injuries. Officers have yet to positively identify the woman. Investigation continuing.
CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 7:13 am. Officers responded to a residence where the 59-year-old male suspect grabbed the victim, initiating a physical altercation. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
EAST: Retail Theft – 12:54 pm. Officers responded to Target where the 35-year-old male suspect had stolen merchandise. The suspect was cited for retail theft and bail jumping.
EAST: Armed Robbery – 3:24 pm. A juvenile victim reported that an acquaintance took him to an apartment where a male suspect pointed a gun at him and tried to rob him of his belongings. The victim escaped from the apartment. Investigation continuing.
MIDTOWN: Disturbance – 5:59 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the 26-year-old female suspect was causing a disturbance and damaging property. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct, damage to property and child neglect.
WEST: Missing Adult – 7:54 pm. Officers responded to a residence where staff wished to report a 31-year-old man missing. The man was listed as missing and an ATL was aired.
EAST: Traffic Incident – 11:19 pm. Officers on patrol observed a vehicle that had fled previous attempted traffic stops. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle which again fled. Monona PD, Maple Bluff PD and DCSO pursued and successfully stopped the vehicle. The 34-year-old and 22-year-old male suspects were arrested on charges of eluding and resisting. Madison PD officers assisted on the stop with the detainment and arrests.
