The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 1/9/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 1/10/2025, MPD received 372 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (62), East (93), Midtown (93), North (72), South (57), West (54), and Other (8). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Priority calls only from 4:50pm to 5:15pm and from 6:55pm to 8:45pm due to calls for service.

MIDTOWN: OMVWI – 2:30 am. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an expired registration. Officers observed empty cans of an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle. The 23-year-old male suspect performed poorly on SFST. The suspect was arrested for OWI 2nd. (This call did not make the previous 24-hour cycle.)
SOUTH: Disturbance – 8:01 am. Officers responded to the railroad tracks near John Nolen Dr and E Olin Ave where a 43-year-old male suspect armed with a knife threatened firefighters and a railroad employee. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct while armed and interfering with firefighting.
WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 8:12 am. A victim reported that during an argument, the 31-year-old male suspect strangled her. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic strangulation, battery, and disorderly conduct. Suspect is at large.
SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 8:54 am. Officers responded to a residence where the 35-year-old male suspect pushed the victim, threatened her, took her phone and damaged property in the home. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic disorderly conduct, false imprisonment, damage to property and intimidation of a victim. Suspect is at large.
EAST: Death Investigation – 10:25 am. City workers discovered the body of a deceased man in the 6600 block of Milwaukee St. Officers determined the man had been reported missing in August of 2024.
EAST: Disturbance – 1:28 pm. The victim reported that she found an unidentified male in her garage, who then demanded money from her and threatened her. Officers determined the incident was related to an ongoing dispute between the victim and two other female subjects. Investigation continuing.
NORTH: Drug Overdose – 1:29 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the 40-year-old male suspect was found unresponsive. MFD paramedics transported the suspect to the hospital. Officers developed probable cause to charge the suspect with possession of cocaine.
EAST: Runaway Juvenile – 3:10 pm. The grandfather of a 13-year-old girl reported her missing. The juvenile was listed as missing and an ATL was aired.
EAST: Death Investigation – 3:28 pm. Officers responded to a residence where a 74-year-old man was found deceased. Nothing suspicious on scene.
EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 4:16 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the 51-year-old male suspect pushed the victim into a closet and threatened family members. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic battery and disorderly conduct.
EAST: Check Person – 4:19 pm. Officers assisted Journey Mental Health with the emergency detention of a woman who was walking in traffic and not dressed for the weather. The woman was admitted to a hospital.
CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 4:42 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the 24-year-old female suspect began a physical altercation with the victim. The suspect was court ordered not to be on the premises. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic disorderly conduct, battery, and violating a restraining order. Suspect is at large.
EAST: Kidnapping – 6:26 pm. A victim reported that after the 25-year-old male suspect battered her at her home in another county, the suspect forced her into a car and took her to his place of work in Madison. The suspect left the victim in the car without keys or phone. The suspect is at large.
WEST: Threats Complaint – 7:31 pm. A 7-year-old boy threatened to shoot up the bus on his way to school. Officers contacted the boy's mother and school staff and created a safety plan.
NORTH: Traffic Stop – 10:54 pm. The 24-year-old male suspect fled a traffic stop. Maple Bluff PD located and apprehended the suspect who was charged with fleeing/eluding, possession w/ intent cocaine and heroin, and CCW.
