The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 1/17/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 1/20/2025, MPD received 1,075 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (203),East (222), Midtown (168), North (172), South (123), West (162), and Other (25). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 4:53pm to 7pm due to calls for service.
North/Check Person – 10:29am: Caller reported observing a male subject punch a female subject and then get into a vehicle together. Vehicle information obtained. Registered owner's address checked. No one located. Investigation continuing.
South/Crash – 11:31am: Officers responded to a single-vehicle crash. There were two occupants in the vehicle that both sustained injuries. One of the occupants grabbed the wheel which caused the vehicle to swerve and crash. Investigation continuing. *Criminal charges forthcoming.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 3pm: A 30-year-old male subject, wanted by probation/parole, was contacted. The subject attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended. The subject was arrested on the probation/parole hold, forgery, and resisting.
Central/Check Person – 3:53pm: Officers responded to check on a 33-year-old female subject pounding on a door. There is a history of the subject stalking another subject. The subject was taken into protective custody for an emergency detention evaluation. ED not supported. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and trespassing. She was also served with a stalking letter.
North/Disturbance – 4:35pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 33-year-old male subject. A gun was involved. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed. A 41-year-old male subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Midtown/Runaway Juvenile – 6:18pm: A 14-year-old male subject was reported as a runaway. The juvenile had not returned home in several days. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
East/Domestic Disturbance – 9:11pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 45-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery.
West/Runaway Juvenile – 11:01pm: A 14-year-old male subject was reported as a runaway after an argument at home took place. Phone ping attempted. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

Central: Disturbance – 2:12am: Officers responded to a fight in progress on W. Gorham St. A 26-year-old male subject and a 24-year-old male subject were arrested for disorderly conduct.
North/Domestic Disturbance – 6:26am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 40-year-old female subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital. An emergency detention was explored but not supported. The subject had to be admitted to the hospital due to suspected drug use. Officers disengaged. Criminal charges forthcoming for domestic disorderly conduct and felony bail jumping.
West/Check Person – 9:05am: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was contacted and ultimately transported to a local hospital. Subject left in the care of medical staff and officers disengaged.
East/Disturbance – 11:21am: Officers responded to a disturbance. A subject was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. Final outcome pending. *Transport to Winnebago pending. Criminal charges forthcoming.
East/Drug Incident – 11:36am: Officers responded, along with EMS, to a report of a subject experiencing a drug overdose. The subject was transported to a local hospital. Investigation continuing.
South/Death Investgation – 3:50pm: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (75-year-old female). Lifesaving measures attempted but were not successful. Nothing suspicious identified.
South/Residential Burglary – 4:23pm: Officers responded to a residential burglary in progress. A 23-year-old male subject was arrested for attempted burglary, attempted arson, and 2nd degree reckless endangering safety.
West/Disturbance – 8:23pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 27-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.
Midtown/Mental Health Conveyance – 9:03pm: Officers responded to a local hospital for a supported emergency detention. The subject was subsequently transported to Winnebago.

West/Check Person – 12:12am: Officers were initially responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject. Officers located a party with several very intoxicated under-age subjects. An 18-year-old female subject, who hosted the party, was uncooperative with officers. She was taken to detox and cited for underage drinking and resisting.
East/Stolen Auto – 10:48am: A vehicle was reported stolen. The vehicle was left running, unoccupied, and unattended. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
Midtown/Damage to Property – 1:52pm: Caller reported notice consistent with a bullet strike to the book of his vehicle. Investigation continuing.
City-Wide/Adult Arrested Person – 3:29pm: A 32-year-old male subject, wanted, was located and arrested on probable cause for criminal damage to property. Additional charges possibly forthcoming. Investigation continuing.
North/Check Welfare – 4:37pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of subjects in a hotel room. Officers located three children, under the age of 4, alone. A 34-year-old female and a 35-year-old male subject were arrested for child neglect and bail jumping. The children were placed with a family member. Child Protective Services notified.
East/Check Property – 8:06pm: Caller reported hearing shots fired and observed several subjects running down the street. Casings were located/recovered. An unoccupied vehicle, a garage, and 2 buildings were found to have been struck. No reported injuries at this time. Investigation continuing.
West/Mental Health Conveyance – 8:48pm: Officers responded to a local hospital for a combative child. An emergency detention was sought/approved. The child was transported to Winnebago.
East/Mental Health Conveyance – 9:27pm: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject with declining mental health issues. Emergency detention sought/approved. The subject was transported to Winnebago. Criminal charges also forthcoming for disorderly conduct.

North/Death Investigation – 1:18am: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (55-year-old male). Subject had significant health/medical concerns and had a do-not-resuscitate order in place. Subject passed away. Nothing suspicious identified.
Midtown/Mental Health Conveyance – 1:39am: Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention. The subject was transported to Winnebago.
Midtown/Trespass – 11:18am: A 50-year-old female subject was arrested for resisting and cited for trespassing after refusing to leave the premises of a business.
