The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 1/22/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 1/23/2025, MPD received 387 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (74),East (91), Midtown (53), North (66), South (37), West (55), and Other (11). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

South/Crash – 7:52am: Officers responded to a crash (Hwy 12/Seminole).Driver/vehicle spun around and was broadsided by another vehicle. Minor injuries reported. Traffic impacted. Both vehicles towed. Traffic citations issued.
West/Check Person – 12:01pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was contacted. CARES responded. Officers disengaged.
East/Disturbance – 1:30pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 65-year-old male. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Central/Disturbance – 4:32pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 63-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting. The subject was also cited for trespassing.
South/Check Welfare – 5:29pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject causing a disturbance and being aggressive with staff. The subject was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Emergency detention sought/approved. The subject was transported to Winnebago.

Midtown/Death Investigation – 12:48am: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (71-year-old male). Nothing suspicious identified.
South/Disturbance – 1:40am: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a 21-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and bail jumping. The subject was also cited for trespassing.
