The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 1/30/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 1/31/2025, MPD received 379 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (75), East (75), Midtown (76), North (42), South (41), West (59), and Other (11). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

MIDTOWN: Trespass – 9:11 am. Officers responded to Asian Midway Foods where the 60-year-old female suspect was trespassing. The suspect was cited for trespassing and conveyed to jail.
WEST: OMVWI – 4:27 pm. Officers conducted a traffic stop at S Gammon Rd and Schroeder Rd. The 23-year-old female driver performed poorly on SFST and was cited for OWI 1st with passengers under 16. The 44-year-old female passenger was arrested on a warrant and cited for obstruction after providing a false name to officers.
EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 4:42 pm. Officers responded to the Motel 6 where the 47-year-old male suspect was arguing with a female subject in the lobby. The suspect was arrested on a warrant and a probation hold.
CENTRAL: Intoxicated Person – 4:52 pm. Officers on foot patrol on State St arrested a highly intoxicated 36-year-old female suspect for disorderly conduct. The suspect was also cited for resisting due to her behavior at the jail.
CENTRAL: Weapons Offense – 5:15 pm. Officers responded to Festival Foods where the caller to dispatch reported a juvenile had pointed a pistol at her. A 14-year-old male suspect was charged with unlawful use of a facsimile firearm. A second 14-year-old male was arrested for resisting.
MIDTOWN: Sexual Assault of a Child – 5:22 pm. Officers responded to a hospital to contact a patient who reported that a 20-year-old male suspect sexually assaulted her. Investigation continuing.
CENTRAL: Check Person – 5:26 pm. Officers made contact with a woman who was reportedly suicidal. The woman was placed into protective custody and conveyed to a hospital.
SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 10:08 pm. A victim reported that the 28-year-old male suspect struck her and threatened her during an argument. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic disorderly conduct, battery and false imprisonment. Suspect is at large.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 10:22 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the 40-year-old female suspect was arguing with two roommates. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and battery.
CENTRAL: Sexual Assault – 11:03 pm. Officers responded to the 500 block of State St where the 34-year-old male suspect was engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior. Officers learned that the suspect had sexually assaulted several victims at two downtown bars. The suspect was arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior, 4th degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct. Investigation continuing. Incident reported completed on MPD website.
CENTRAL: Bar Check – 11:30 pm. Officers with the central district Community Policing Team conducted a bar check and issued over 200 citations for underage consumption of alcohol.

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 12:31 am. Officers responded to a residence where a 23-year-old male and 28-year-old female were arguing. The male suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, battery and possession of drug paraphernalia. The female suspect was arrested for resisting and possession of drug paraphernalia.
MIDTOWN: Disturbance – 1:25 am. Officers responded to a hospital where the 52-year-old female suspect was loitering and refused to leave. The suspect broke a metal detector, yelled racial slurs and slapped a security guard. The suspect was arrested for damage to property and disorderly conduct.
CENTRAL: Check Property – 1:45 am. Officers responded to the area of W Mifflin St and N Bedford St where several people reported hearing gunshots. Officers did not locate any fired shell casings or damage to property.
