The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 4/1/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 4/2/2025, MPD received 438 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (70),East (80), Midtown (87), North (82), South (47), West (63), and Other (9). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Central/Domestic Disturbance – 12:52pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 20-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
South/Residential Burglary – 1:16pm: Officers responded to a report of an unknown subject inside a residence. The subject (46-year-old female) was contacted by officers. The subject was armed with a hammer and would not cooperate with officers. The subject got onto the roof of the residence and started ripping the roof off, bent a pole on the roof, and began to grab onto wires. The subject fell from the roof and was injured. The subject was transported to a local hospital. The subject was provided with order-in citations for burglary to motor/trailer home, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and resisting. Probation/Parole notified.
East/Assist EMS – 6:38pm: Officers responded, along with EMS, to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject. CCR performed. Subject revived and was transported to a local hospital. Incident considered medical, nothing suspicious identified.
Midtown/Mental Health Conveyance – 6:51pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was contacted, taken into protective custody, and transported to a local hospital. Emergency detention sought/approved. Subject transported to Winnebago.
East/Mental Health Conveyance – 7:34pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject causing themselves self-harm at a group home. The subject was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Final outcome pending.
Midtown/Child Abuse – 8:56pm: Officers responded to a report of child abuse involving a 36-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for physical abuse to a child.
East/Battery – 11:43pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 31-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct while armed.

East/Missing Adult – 12:10am: A 55-year-old male subject was reported missing from his group home. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. Subject located safe and returned home.
