The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 4/16/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 4/17/2025, MPD received 450 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (81),East (94), Midtown (86), North (75), South (55), West (52), and Other (7). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

North/Death Investigation – 6:28am: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing infant (1-year-old). Lifesaving measures attempted but were not successful. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 10:08am: A 26-year-old male subject was arrested for two counts of stalking.
East/Runaway Juvenile – 10:19am: A 13-year-old female subject was reported as missing/runaway. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The subject was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
East/Residential Burglary – 2:13pm: A 29-year-old male subject attempted to force his way into a residence that he did not reside at. The subject fled from officers as they arrived on scene. The subject was apprehended. The subject was arrested for attempted burglary, criminal damage to property, and disorderly conduct.
East/Domestic Disturbance – 3:54pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 77-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Midtown/Crash with Injuries – 4:03pm: Officers responded to a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian crash. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with significant injuries. The driver remained on scene and was cooperative. Investigation continuing.
South/Disturbance – 5:26pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 44-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject, who remains at-large.
Midtown/Threats Complaint – 8:22pm: Officers received a report of a threats complaint. Numerous addresses checked. Phone attempts were unsuccessful. Investigation continuing.
South/Homicide – 10:05pm: Officers responded to shots fired and a report of a victim shot in the 1200 block of Fish Hatchery Road. Lifesaving measures were attempted. The victim was transported to a local hospital where they succumbed to their injuries. A 17-year-old male subject was taken into custody and charged with homicide by negligent handling of a dangerous weapon.

Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 1:57am: Officers responded to a report of a stabbing. A victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 33-year-old male subject was arrested for domestic 2nd degree reckless endangering safety.
Midtown/Intoxicated Driver – 2:59am: Officers responded to a report that a 17-year-old male subject took his parents' vehicle without permission and had been drinking. The vehicle/subject were observed. A traffic stop was attempted but the subject did not stop. Other agencies attempted to stop the vehicle and pursued the vehicle. Tire deflation devices were deployed and were successful. The subject was arrested for eluding and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.
Central/Sexual Assault – 4:04am: Officers are investigating a possible sexual assault. Investigation continuing.
