The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 04/17/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 04/18/2025, MPD received 471 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (71), East (75), Midtown (70), North (84), South (54), West (56), and Other (7). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

04/17
EAST: Road Rage – 9:08 am. A victim reported he was driving on the interstate behind a trailer when rocks and dirt struck his windshield. The driver of the suspect vehicle, a 22-year-old male, pointed a handgun at the victim and then drove westbound on the beltline. The suspect was arrested and charged with 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety and possession of drug paraphernalia.
EAST: Battery – 11:18 am. A victim reported that a 16-year-old female suspect struck her repeatedly while an 18-year-old male suspect held her down. The female suspect was arrested and charged with battery and disorderly conduct. The male suspect was cited for party to a crime battery and disorderly conduct.
EAST: Disturbance – 2:49 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the 44-year-old female suspect threatened the victim and knocked over a TV. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting, discharging bodily fluids and damage to property.
SOUTH: OMVWI – 4:47 pm. The 42-year-old male suspect lost control of his vehicle while driving on the beltline and struck another vehicle. Fitchburg PD stopped the vehicle and processed the OWI arrest. Madison PD issued traffic citations.
EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 5:41 pm. A victim reported that during an argument, the 30-year-old male suspect beat her, sexually assaulted her and held her against her will. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for sexual assault, intimidation of a victim and false imprisonment. Suspect is at large.
WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 6:10 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the 19-year-old male suspect spit on and pushed the victim. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery.
CENTRAL: Missing Adult – 11:41 pm. Friends reported that a 19-year-old man did not return home after being out at a bar. The man was listed as missing and an ATL was aired.

CENTRAL: OMVWI – 12:49 am. Officers responded to the 1300 block of Spaight St where a truck crashed into a parked car and then into a porch. The 31-year-old male driver was arrested and charged with OWI 3rd, 2nd degree reckless endangerment, and eluding.
MIDTOWN: Check Person – 2:55 am. Officers responded to a hospital for a suicidal patient who attempted to leave the hospital. Officers placed the patient into protective custody and assisted with an emergency detention.
