The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 4/25/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 4/28/2025, MPD received 1,388 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (401),East (228), Midtown (218), North (209), South (138), West (161), and Other (33). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Midtown/Domestic Disturbance - 3:05am: Officers responded to a report of a 35-year-old female subject attempting to break into her father's residence. The subject physically assaulted her father earlier in the evening. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and battery.

East/Domestic Disturbance – 10:39am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 38-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, 2 outstanding warrants, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Central/Death Investigation – 12:02pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (77-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 1:01pm: A 49-year-old male subject entered an enclosed yard and was convinced there was a villain handcuffed inside the residence. The homeowner asked the subject to leave. The subject started to yell expletives at the homeowner. The subject left the residence but then returned. He was arrested for disorderly conduct, theft, and 2 counts of misdemeanor bail jumping. A trespassing citation was also issued. An emergency detention was sought but not approved.

Midtown/Check Person – 3pm: Officers responded to a report of a possible suicidal juvenile. The juvenile was contacted and transported to a local hospital. The juvenile agreed to seek voluntary services. Officers disengaged.

East/Intoxicated Driver – 2:13am: Officers responded to crash. It was reported that a driver/vehicle struck a tree, a parked vehicle, and a building. The driver (30-year-old male) was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense). No injuries sustained.

South/Intoxicated Driver – 2:50am: A traffic stop was conducted as the vehicle did not have their headlights on. An 18-year-old male driver/subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 5:09am: Officers responded to a report of a 24-year-old male subject attempting to open vehicle doors in the area. Contact made with the subject, who was found to have an outstanding warrant. The subject was arrested on the warrant and misdemeanor bail jumping.

Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 9:48am: Officers responded to a report of a 45-year-old male subject pulling on a door and pacing while stating he was homicidal. Officers attempted contact with the subject who squared up and ripped off his sweatshirt. Officers disengaged and consulted with a local mental health provider. Decision made to re-engage with the subject. The subject was detained and arrested for 6 outstanding warrants (disorderly conduct, theft, bail jumping).

North/Sexual Assault – 3:42pm: Officers received a report of a sexual assault. Investigation continuing.

South/Crash – 5:17pm: Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries. A child was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. A 35-year-old male driver/subject was cited for red signal violation.

West/Crash – 5:35pm: Officers responded to a report of a head-on collision. A subject was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 34-year-old male subject was cited for failure to yield. A 20-year-old male subject was cited for operating while suspended.

Central/Crash – 6:33pm: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. motorcycle crash. The motorcyclist sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Conflicting witness statements. Additional follow-up necessary.

Central/Fight – 9:14pm: Officers responded to a fight in the 500 block of State Street.  Three subjects arrested for disorderly conduct (26-year-old male, 20-year-old male, 29-year-old male).

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 9:37pm: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a 24-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic felony intimidation of a victim, battery, disorderly conduct, resisting, and a probation/parole hold.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 10:04pm: Officers responded to a report of a 45-year-old male subject smashing windows at a bus stop. The subject resisted officers. The subject was arrested for criminal damage to property, resisting, felony bail jumping, misdemeanor bail jumping, and disorderly conduct.

East/Crash – 22:24pm: Officers responded to a vehicle/pedestrian crash. Driver remained on scene and was cooperative. The pedestrian (62-year-old male subject) had been kicked out of two bars for being too drunk.  While attempting to cross Cottage Grove Road he was almost struck by two vehicles and was struck by the third vehicle.  He as transported to a local hospital. He was cited for sudden pedestrian movement.

Priority calls only from 5:19pm to 7:23pm due to calls for service.

Midtown/Disturbance – 1:08am: Several victims reported that an unknown male subject was verbally taunting them when the subject made a threatening comment and displayed a handgun under his shirt. Investigation continuing.

East/Death Investigation – 4:15am: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (50-year-old female subject). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time. Autopsy scheduled.

East/Death Investigation – 6:32am: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (75-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 7:12am: A 28-year-old male subject threatened 2 employees at the men's shelter. The subject then damaged several vehicles, forced entry to a business, and caused damage in the business. The subject was arrested for burglary, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, retail theft, and a probation hold. Additional charges may be forthcoming.

South/Disturbance – 8:41am: Officers responded to a disturbance. A 38-year-old female subject was arrested for battery, disorderly conduct, and bail jumping. A 32-year-old male female subject was arrested for battery.

Central/Substantial Battery – 2:40pm: Officers responded to a battery complaint where it was reported an unknown male subject attacked two victims causing significant injuries. The victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The male subject was not on scene when officers arrived. Investigation continuing.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 4:21pm: Officers responded to a park for a report of a 45-year-old male subject acting strange with their pants down. Contact made with the subject. The subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of meth.

East/Disturbance – 4:33pm: Officers responded to a report of a 41-year-old male subject causing a disturbance. The subject was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, criminal trespass to dwelling, and bail jumping (2 counts).

North/Adult Arrested Person – 5:13pm: Two wanted subjects (44-year-old male, 42-year-old male) were contacted and arrested on numerous outstanding charges.

East/Intoxicated Driver – 7:28pm: A traffic stop was conducted. The 39-year-old male driver/subject became uncooperative with officers and attempted to grab a bag in his vehicle several times. Marijuana observed in the vehicle. Vehicle search yielded alcohol, drug paraphernalia, and a knife. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense) and resisting. He was also booked on outstanding probable cause from the night before (domestic criminal damage to property and battery).

Central/Domestic Disturbance – 8:01pm: Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A 35-year-old female subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and disorderly conduct. A 33-year-old male subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed.

Central/Intoxicated Driver – 1:03am: Officers came upon a crash that had just occurred. Victim reported that the driver/vehicle in front of them slammed on their brakes which caused them to rear-end them. The victim made contact with the driver who said they were fine and then drove off. The other vehicle/driver (41-year-old female) was located in a parking lot. The subject showed signs of impairment. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense), hit-and-run, and issued several traffic citations.

East/Drug Incident – 1:26am: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject. Naloxone administered. The subject was transported to a local hospital. Subject admitted to the hospital. Investigation continuing.

East/Disturbance – 3:08am: Officers responded to a report of sounds of a disturbance. A 23-year-old female subject slapped an officer. She was arrested for battery to a police officer. A 31-year-old male subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Neither subject would provide a statement about what occurred at the residence.
