The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 4/28/2025 through 6:00 a.m. on 4/29/2025, MPD received 467 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (88),East (96), Midtown (90), North (68), South (52), West (66), and Other (7). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

South/Sexual Assault – 9:16am: Officers responded to a report of a possible sexual assault. Investigation continuing.

East/Intoxicated Driver – 9:55am: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. building crash. The driver (45-year-old male) was conveyed to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver was determined to have been impaired. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense), operating after revocation, and failure to install ignition interlock device.

East/Crash – 11:21am: Officers responded to a single vehicle rollover crash. Witnesses reported two subjects ran from the vehicle and that one of the subjects was physically assaulting the other subject. The driver/vehicle was reportedly going 80-100mph on Cottage Grove Road when they lost control and crashed into a horse pasture. EMS contacted both parties. Investigation continuing. * A 21-year-old female subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 1:26pm: A 78-year-old male subject offered a minor $1 to see his intimate parts. The subject was arrested for child enticement.

North/Traffic Arrest – 3:49pm: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver/subject (34-year-old male) reported that there was a gun in the vehicle. Two guns located/recovered. The subject was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.

East/Disturbance – 8:03pm: Officers responded to a disturbance with a subject threatening to kill others. Mental health provider consulted. The subject was transported to a local hospital for an emergency detention evaluation. Emergency detention supported. Subject placed at a local facility.

East/Residential Burglary – 8:55pm: A victim reported personal items and a credit card were missing from their hotel room. The credit card was used nearby. Officers responded to that location and arrested a 37-year-old male subject for burglary, possession of burglarious tools, ID theft, and obstructing.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 11:41pm: A 37-year-old male subject was located passed out on a sidewalk.  Officers woke the subject. The subject was not cooperative and actively resisted officers. The subject was arrested for resisting causing injury.

Central/Battery – 12:57am: A victim reported being physically assaulted by two subjects. The victim required medical attention. The 2 subjects involved were not on scene when officers arrived. Probable cause developed once the subjects are identified and located.
