Hello East Side!!!
Spring Has sprung (until the next surprise snowfall). I'd like to cordially invite you to Coffee With A Cop next week. It will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd, at 2PM. We will be hosting it at our East District station (809 S. Thompson Dr).
Out special guests this month are Officer Haley Massey and Crisis Worker Hope Edgren. PO Massey is the Mental Health Officer for the East District, and Hope is one of Journey Mental Health's Crisis Workers, who are mebedded within MPD to provide guidance and assistance for calls and incidents where there is a mental health nexus. They will be talking about MPD's Mental Health Unit, how we respond to mental health calls, and how the unit came to be.
Our Officers have found that the Mental Health Unit has been a great asset to how we serve our public, and after hearing their presentation, I hope that you will feel the same.
