Full Service Drop Off Locations
The City of Madison has two full service drop off sites which accept large items, recycling, refuse, rigid plastics, electronics, and brush. You can also recycle cooking oil at these locations.
Locations:
Hours of Operation: December 3 through March 30 Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. March 31 through November 30th
Material Accepted: Note: While we make every effort to serve our customers, the City of Madison drop off sites are not designed to handle large volume customers. Some materials, such as building material and sod have specific limits (see below). The sites are not able to handle large loads of brush, refuse, or large items. If you are planning to bring in truck or trailer loads of material you should contact the Streets Division before driving to the sites and make sure your material will be accepted. You can call 246-4532 for the Sycamore site or 266-4681 for Badger Rd. Business customers please note that our curbside limit of 4 95-gallon carts or their equivalent per week applies to the drop off sites as well. Residents and business customers with large volumes of material to dispose of may want to consider hauling it to the Dane County Landfill.
A fee is charged for disposal of appliances at the drop off sites. (See Appliance Collection for details). Yard waste is accepted from mid March through the first week of December. Drop Off Site Regulations:
