STREET REPAIR: The Streets Division is responsible for basic street repair such as filling potholes and repairing minor damage. We also supervise the seal coating of unimproved streets. Major street projects such as reconstruction and resurfacing are the responsibility of City Engineering. For information on these projects go to..... To report a pothole go to..... Sealcoat Program: The Streets Division conducts an annual sealcoat program on unimproved streets. Unimproved streets are streets without curb and gutter. Sealcoating involves applying a layer of oil to the street and covering it with surfacing material, generally a layer of small stones. After the oil has cured (approximately five to ten days) excess material will be swept by a mechanical street sweeper. There is no charge to property owners for sealcoating. Sealcoating is done by the Dane County Highway Department under contract with the City. 2008 Sealcoat Program: The 2007 Sealcoat program will begin in late July, weather permitting. The program should be completed in two weeks if the weather cooperates. The following streets are scheduled for sealcoating in 2008: East Side:

Sod and Curb Damage: The Streets Division is also responsible for the repair of curb or sod damage caused by snow plowing or leaf collection. To report one of these problems you must call the Streets Division. west side residents should call 266-4681. East side residents should call 246-4532.
