The City of Madison has created an infographic to assist voters who are trying to determine whether they have an ID that will be acceptable for voting purposes. The infographic is available at www.cityofmadison.com/voterID.
Voters should note that driver licenses and ID cards from other states are not accepted under the Wisconsin voter ID law.
The address on a voter’s ID does not need to be current for the purpose of proving identity.
City of Madison absentee voters who previously submitted absentee requests and are now required to send a copy of their ID to the City Clerk’s Office can go to any Madison Public Library for assistance. City of Madison libraries are willing to provide these voters with a free photocopy of their ID, and to forward that photocopy to the City Clerk’s Office.
