Central Urban Service Area Applications
The City of Madison plans to submit an application to the Capital Area Regional Planning Commission to request the addition of approximately 1,341 acres of land within two areas adjacent to the Central Urban Service Area. The proposed amendment to the Central Urban Service Area is necessary to serve proposed new development with sanitary sewer service. The addition of land to the Central Urban Service Area enables property owners to connect to a municipal sanitary sewer if such service is available. The addition will not change the jurisdiction in which properties are now located or the zoning of the property.
The City of Madison expects to submit its application to the Capital Area Regional Plan Commission in late 2021. The process for amending the Central Urban Service area takes approximately six months to complete.
Below are maps of the areas that are proposed to be added to the Central Urban Service Area.
