Station 10 Gets Creative After Neighbor's Cell Phone Falls In Sewer

E10 retrieving cell phone from sewerFor one north side neighbor, the call for help to the MFD had to be made in person after he stumbled on a bit of bad luck...

Firefighters at Station 10 were paid a surprise visit recently when a young man stopped by with a special request: He had accidentally dropped his cell phone into the sewer and was hoping we could help get it back.

Firefighter/Paramedic Brandon Jones, Firefighter/Paramedic Joe Gangler, and Firefighter/EMT McKinnan Stamschror put on their thinking caps. With a halligan tool in tow, they removed the sewer grate to gain access to the drain. They were able to grab the phone and return it to the young man.

The phone was unharmed in the incident!
