Youth Pass

2024-2025 Annual/Semester Youth Pass

mmsd teal fast fare card

The annual and semester youth passes are only available for purchase online, through Metro-by-mail, or at the Metro Administration Office at 1245 E. Washington Ave.

The 2024/25 youth passes will be compatible with Metro's new fare system rolling out in September. They will have Fast Fare branding, and have the MMSD logo on the front.

When boarding a local Metro bus or an articulated bus, students will simply tap their card on the fare readers, and a ride will be recorded.

Boarding with Fast FarePrint Flyer: English / Spanish

Please note: do not hole-punch these cards. It will permanently damage the pass. Metro is not responsible for damaged passes.

Students ages 5 – 17 or still in high school are eligible to use the youth pass.

Lost or Damaged Passes

Riders must show proof of purchase to get a replacement if the pass is lost or damaged.

Do not hole-punch Fast Fare cards. This will damage the card and require a replacement.

Replacements are $10.00 and must be bought in-person at Metro's Administration Office. Students may request up to three replacements per semester pass, and six replacements per school year pass.

A New Way to Pay

Metro is in the process of rolling out new ways to pay your fare including online accounts, automatic discounts on the go, and credit card and smartphone options.

The account-based system may be a better option than the annual/semester pass in some situations. For students or families that don't take the bus every day or do not want to pay a full $315.00 up front, the new online account system will be a better, more cost effective option.
