In-person absentee voting started yesterday here in Madison. Over 2,000 people turned out to sites across the city to cast their ballot for upcoming November 3rd Presidential Election.
Fourteen locations across the city are hosting in-person absentee voting this election season now through November 1st including most libraries, UW Campus, Edgewood Campus, and Madison College Truax and South Campus. A full listing of in person absentee voting locations and hours can be found on the Clerk’s Office website. To promote public health and social distancing, our in-person absentee voting sites are primarily drive-up or outdoors.
As of the end of in-person absentee voting yesterday, 189,127 residents were registered to vote in Madison. Of the registered voters, 103,977 have requested absentee ballots and 77,628 have returned those absentee ballots. That is a 41.0% voter turnout so far!
I encourage all Madison residents o are eligible to vote to create your safe voting plan today. Remember, in-person absentee voting will be available through Sunday, November 1st, 2020. In addition to all in-person absentee voting sites, you can also drop off your absentee ballot at any one of our fourteen ballot drop boxes across the city or turn out to your polling place on Election Day.
