Boards, Commissions, and Committee Meetings

  • Finance Committee: The Finance Committee meeting will take place on Monday, June 10, 2024, in virtual format at 4:30 PM. Agenda items include authorizing the purchase of up to $568,425 in software and configuration related to the ADA-compliant audio announcements system for those with vision loss at the Bus Rapid Transit stations, approving the Large Item Collection and Electronic Waste Recycling Policy, and an update on the 2025 Operating Budget cost to continue.
  • Plan Commission: The Plan Commission meeting will take place on Monday, June 10, 2024, in virtual format at 5:30 PM. Agenda items include Tax Incremental District amendments in Districts 4, 8, 12, and 13, as well as development-related requests in Districts 3, 6, 11, 13, 15, and 19.
  • Public Safety Review Committee: The Public Safety Review Committee meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in virtual format at 5:00 PM. Agenda items include a report from the Madison Fire Department including a report on CAREs, an update from the Madison Police Department on the Strategic Plan, and authorizing an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Milwaukee to provide support to City of Milwaukee law enforcement from Saturday, July 13, 2024 through Saturday, July 20, 2024.
  • Transportation Commission: The Transportation Commission meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in virtual format at 5:00 PM. Agenda items include adopting the Sustainability Plan, reviewing the Crossing Guard Policy, and consideration of a resolution that would request information, studies, and plans regarding the authorization of a local sales tax.
  • Board of Park Commissioners: The Board of Park Commissioners meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in virtual format at 6:30 PM. Agenda items include honoring and celebrating the 130th anniversary of the Madison Parks System, an informational presentation of the Warner Park Southeast Recreation Area Development Plan, and an informational presentation of the Park and Open Space Plan.

  • Parks Alive (Allied Park) - Monday, June 10, 2024Parks Alive builds stronger neighborhoods and connects neighbors to their parks through fun, family-friendly activities, music and free food. Events are held in parks across the city and throughout the summer. Connect with your neighbors and engage with your community at a Parks Alive event near you!
  • Firefighter/EMT Virtual Recruitment Open House for Women - Monday, June 10, 2024Women are vastly underrepresented in fire/EMS. The Madison Fire Department is setting out to change that! In this affinity space, women can connect with other women currently serving the MFD, learn about the career, and find out why the Madison Fire Department stands out as a leader in the nation for employing women in fire/EMS. Advanced registration required!
  • Mobile Madison - Tuesday, June 11, 2024: Join Mobile Madison partners for an evening of fun. Enjoy free snacks, books, art activities, fishing games, fitness and more. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs for the movie in the park! 
  • Conservation Park Tour - Wednesday, June 12, 2024: Conservation Park Tours are educational staff-guided walks held at various conservation parks on the 2nd Wednesday, May - October.
  • Madison Night Market - Thursday, June 13, 2024: Madison Night Market is a celebration of Madison's unique and inspiring creative culture. Vendors showcase handmade products, local art, artisan gifts, prepackaged foods and fresh produce. The event includes live music, artists, special visiting food carts and pop-up restaurant experiences. Partnerships with area arts and cultural organizations ensure this event is a city-wide representation of this community’s talent.
  • Capitol City Band Concerts - Thursday, June 13, 2024:  Old-fashioned free concerts in the park by the Capitol City Band with toe-tapping familiar music for all ages and all cultures. Bring a friend, bring your chairs; enjoy the music on a beautiful summer evening; rain or shine!
