  • Partisan Primary Election Day, Tuesday, August 13, 2024, 7:00am – 8:00pm: Polling places open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
  • Gone for Good? Negotiating the Coming Wave of Church Property Transition

  • District 11 Book Club: "Gone for Good? Negotiating the Coming Wave of Church Property Transition?" (In-person only) Wednesday, Aug 14, 2024, 7:00pm to 8:30pm at the Sequoya Library.  To explore the topic of evolving church and community property, the next District 11 Book Club will be a discussion of the 2024 book edited by Mark Elsdon, Gone for Good?: Negotiating the Coming Wave of Church Property Transition . Copies of the book are available for book club attendees to check out in advance at the Ask Desk at Sequoya Library, first-come first-served. The August 14 discussion will be facilitated by Alder Tishler with authors Mark Elsdon, Nadia Mian, and Curt Paulson. All community members are welcome to attend and bring a friend!

  • Capitol View Farmers' Market, Wednesday, August 14: The Capitol View Farmers' Market is held weekly on Wednesdays (3:00-7:00pm) from late May through mid-October. Join us each week for great local vendors, live music, food carts, and special activities from week to week. Visit our website and follow us on social media for the most up-to-date information and schedules! (Location: far Eastside of Madison, near the Great Dane Eastside, 5901 Sharpsburg Dr.)
  • Capitol City Band Concert in the Park, Thursday, August 15: Old-fashioned free concerts in the park by the Capitol City Band with toe-tapping familiar music for all ages and all cultures. Bring a friend, bring your chairs; enjoy the music on a beautiful summer evening; rain or shine!
  • Live at The Glen: Storytelling with Tom Martinelli, Friday, August 16:  Madison Parks Foundation is proud to present Live at The Glen! Enjoy live entertainment on the patio at The Glen Golf Park. Join us on the patio as we learn about the history of Glenway & Westmorland golf courses with Tom Martinelli, a local historian and neighbor of The Glen. Martinelli will share his passion for the Westmorland neighborhood from prehistoric through the present. If you love history and enjoy storytelling, this event is perfect for you!
