  • Health Resource Fair, Tuesday, September 24This annual event coincides with National Senior Center Month and reinforces the 2024 theme of "Powering Connections." Over 30 agencies will be on-hand to share information and resources. The event will wrap-up with lunch and a presentation on Genetic Counseling: Why it is Important for Older Adults. Registration is required to receive lunch.
  • Capitol View Farmers' Market, Wednesday, September 25The Capitol View Farmers' Market is held weekly on Wednesdays (3:00-7:00pm) from late May through mid-October. Join us each week for great local vendors, live music, food carts, and special activities from week to week.   • Cherokee Marsh Phragmites Workday, Thursday, September 2 (This event occurs on multiple dates)Assist in keeping the high-quality wetlands in Cherokee Marsh free from invasive phragmites. Volunteers are needed to use twine to tie stalks in bundles. We will then cut the stalks above the twine and treat the cut ends.
  • Live at The Glen: Storytelling with Tom Martinelli, Friday, September 27: Join us on the patio as we learn about the history of Glenway & Westmorland golf courses with Tom Martinelli, a local historian and neighbor of The Glen. Martinelli will share his passion for the Westmorland neighborhood from prehistoric through the present. If you love history and enjoy storytelling, this event is perfect for you!

  • District 11 Book Club on Transportation: Wednesday October 9th at 7:00 pm in the Sequoya Library   To understand the history of public transit and examine how the automobile has reshaped American cities in recent decades. On October 9th we will discuss Tom Standage’s 2021 book  A Brief History of Motion: From the Wheel to the Car to What Comes Next. While transportation fueled Madison’s growth, it also brought significant challenges to our city. Joining us for the book club discussion will be Tom Lynch, the City of Madison’s Transportation Director, who will share insights into the city's transportation history and its current challenges. Free copies of the book are available at the Ask Desk at Sequoya Library, first-come first-served.
