Last Chance Leaves Pickup, Bay Creek Outreach Survey, D13 Resident Runs for DNC Chair, and More
postedHi Everyone,
What a gorgeous day today. I hope you all got out to enjoy the sunshine. You may have been doing yard work, aware this week is your last chance for getting your leaves and yard waste picked up by the city. The Streets Division will be performing this last chance pickup for leaves and yard waste this week, weather permitting. All residents who need another leaf pickup should set out their leaves and yard waste for pick up this week.
Every Madison neighbor shares the same last chance set out date. We will be in your neighborhood as soon as we can. Please be patient. It will take multiple workdays for every neighborhood to receive their last chance pickup.
Expect More Leaves in the Street After Collection
Street sweepers typically trail behind leaf collection crews to gather debris left in the streets.
Temperatures are expected to be too cold to use street sweepers very often for the last chance pickup.
Sweepers require water to work. When temperatures are around 28 degrees, it can cause the water within these vehicles to freeze and cause damage. In order to keep the vehicles from breaking, they will not be used when temperatures are too cold.
Also, most of the Streets Division sweeper fleet will be sent out for their annual maintenance on Monday December 9, leaving only a limited number of sweepers available.
With very cold temperatures expected, and a limited number of sweepers at hand, it is likely you will see more leaf debris in the street than usual following pickup.
More information about yard waste collection, including rules about how to set them out for pickup, can be found at www.cityofmadison.com/yardwaste.
Bay Creek Community Outreach Survey
The Bay Creek Community Outreach Survey is now live! Click on the link or go to: at https://tinyurl.com/BCOutreachSurvey.
The survey is part of the Bay Creek Outreach Campaign, undertaken by the Bay Creek Outreach Working Group in an effort to bring more people into BCNA.
Diverse input is important to building a more diverse, representative, and active neighborhood association. So please take 10 minutes now to complete the survey--epecially if you are someone who has not been an active part of BCNA.
If you don't have a computer or if you need help taking the survey, contact Barb Bailly at 608-440-4613, and she will fill out the survey with you.
Thank you sincerely on behalf of the Bay Creek Outreach Working Group and the entire Bay Creek community.
District 13 Resident is Running to be DNC Chair
Shout out to my Dudgeon-Monroe neighbor, Ben Wikler, who is getting serious consideration as he has put his name forward to become the next chair of the Democratic National Committee. We think Ben would do a great job and wish him all the best!

Let's avoid that, please.
Take good care and stay safe,
