Happy Thanksgiving, District 18!
postedAs we celebrate Thanksgiving, I want to take this opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments of 2024 and share what I’m most grateful for this year—our community and the progress we’ve made together. These achievements are a testament to the Northside's hard work, advocacy, and dedication.
Here are some highlights from 2024 that I’m especially thankful for:
- Knutson Drive Reconstruction
The storm sewer work is complete thanks to careful planning, and the final phase will continue in the spring. Your patience has been vital in keeping this critical project on track. - Warner Park Community Recreation Center Expansion
This long-awaited project is finally underway! Securing $2.58 million in funding last year ensured we could move forward, and I’m thankful for the community's unwavering support in making this dream a reality. - Troy Drive Bridge Progress
Updating funding sources for this bridge project was a big win, bringing us closer to long-overdue infrastructure improvements. - Safety Improvements at Mendota Elementary and Northport/School Road
Installing a stoplight and speed bumps in key areas has made our community safer for children and families. As a parent of Mendota Elementary graduates, I know how impactful these changes are. - Body Camera Pilot Program
Launching the pilot program on the Northside was a significant step toward transparency and accountability in policing. I’m grateful for your support in making this a reality. - The River Food Pantry Expansion
I’m thankful for the River Food Pantry's vital work. Their upcoming expansion will serve even more families in need, helping to nourish our community.
These accomplishments are what I’m most grateful for this year. They reflect the power of collaboration and the strength of our Northside community. As we enjoy this holiday season, let’s remember the importance of coming together to build a brighter future.
Thank you for being an integral part of our progress and wishing you and your family a happy, safe, and joyful Thanksgiving!
Best regards,
Charles Myadze
