Coming Together in Grief: Supporting Each Other Through the Abundant Life Tragedy
postedHello neighbors,
This is a heartbreaking time for Madison, and our community will feel the ripples of this tragedy for a long time. It is in moments like these that we must lean on one another, offering support, kindness, and compassion.
To the families and friends of those who lost their lives, we grieve with you. To the injured and those fighting for recovery, we hold you in our hearts and prayers. To the first responders and everyone who stepped up to help in this devastating moment, we thank you for your courage and care.
Please remember that no one needs to process this alone. If you or someone you know is struggling with this tragedy and needs to talk, the Disaster Distress Helpline is available 24/7. Call or text 800-985-5990 to connect with trained counselors who are ready to listen and provide support.
To help support the victims and their families, United Way has established a fund. Visit unitedwaydanecounty.org or text Help4ALCS to 40403 to contribute.
I hope to see many of you this evening at the candlelight vigil at 6 PM at the Vel Phillips statue on Capitol Square as we come together to mourn, to heal, and to begin the work of finding hope again. Together, we will weather this dark time and strive for a safer, stronger community.
With a heavy heart,
Charles Myadze
