Monday, December 16, was a difficult day...quoting Chief Shawn Barnes "A sad day for our community and for our country".

Thank you to the Madison Community for how you have surrounded the Abundant Life Christian School in one of our city's darkest days.

To District 20 Residents... Please forgive me for not posting updates on the series of events following the tragedy that struck our city yesterday. I was urged by the Common Council Office to post an update...but I just could not. My mind just could not wrap around the events as they were unfolding. I searched deeply, but just could not find the right words. I, like many of you have so many questions appreciate the informational updates provided by Chief Barnes and first responders team. Thank you Madison community for your outpouring of care and sympathy to the victums, families and staff of the Abundant Life Christian School.

This tragedy will have a far reaching impact not only for the immediate families, but also for the first responders, the Madison Community who must face the aftermath of this lasting trauma. I join others who have expressed ..."Enough is Enough". The question beyond Tuesday becomes...when will enough really be enough?

(I share this ending message from NBC15 late anchor Mike McKinney, on September 11, 2001, WMTV 15 News.
