City Meetings

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee meeting will take place on Monday, May 13, in virtual format at 4:30 p.m. Agenda items include an agreement to sell city-owned land at 3614 Milwaukee St to Starkweather LLC (the Voit Farm developers), helping finance affordable housing developments at 715 Rethke Avenue and 7933 Tree Lane, financing Triangle Redevelopment preconstruction costs, and authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to sign a contract with Baker Tilly US for independent external audit services for fiscal years 2024, 2025, and 2026.
Transportation Commission
The Transportation Commission meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 15th, in virtual format at 5 p.m. Agenda items include adopting BRT North South recommended corridor, a review of August Metro Service and Bus Stop changes, and the 2024 First Quarter Traffic Safety report.
Madison Water Utility Releases Annual Drinking Water Quality Report
From the Madison Water Utility:
“Madison Water Utility is announcing the release of this year’s Annual Drinking Water Quality Report. The report provides an overview of the tens of thousands of drinking water quality tests conducted in 2023. The utility is pleased to report that Madison’s drinking water continues to meet or exceed all federal and state standards for health and safety. Postcards were recently mailed to customers in the utility’s service area, announcing the release of the report and directing people to the following link to review the report:
MadisonWater.org/QualityReport.”
Note that Well 15 on the east side has not been used for the last few years following the detection of PFAS compounds. Construction begins in 2024 on a PFAS Treatment System at Well 15.

- Westside Budget Engagement Event (Westside Community Connections), Thursday, May 16: Attention all Westsiders! This in-person event is your chance to have your voice heard and share your thoughts on what should be prioritized in our community.
- Great Strides Madison, Saturday, May 18: Great strides provide a fantastic opportunity for family, friends, students, and colleagues to come together and make a difference. The event harnesses the power of people with a shared vision and encourages collaboration, team building, and leadership as we take steps to dins a cure to cystic fibrosis.
- Bird & Nature Adventures | Starkweather Creek Area, Saturday, May 18: Outings in the Starkweather Creek area vary each month - be sure to check the starting location. Adventures typically at 10:00am on the 3rd Saturday of the month, year-round, and frequently start at the Goodman Community Center, unless noted otherwise. Outings include nature walks, canoe/kayak adventures, bicycling tours, and more, and are sponsored by the Madison Friends of Urban Nature , Madison Parks, Goodman Community Center , Madison Audubon Society , and Friends of Starkweather Creek . No registration is required. Pets are not allowed.
