Report A Problem Form Available for Reporting Routine Concerns to City Agencies
Spring is when many of us get back outside and notice issues like litter, shifting sidewalks, or damaged trees. Please use this Report A Problem form to notify City staff about these issues. The advantage of doing it this way is that the form creates a work order that is assigned to the appropriate City staff team right away.
Here are some examples of options on the form you can select for issues that we sometimes see in the district:
- Trash/Junk/Debris for litter or illegal dumping or if junk is in front of someone’s house for a long time - they may not have submitted a large-item pick-up request. This a recurring problem in some areas and City staff can now use new enforcement tools that the Council approved last year. Note: if you witness someone illegally dumping trash, get their vehicle plate number and report it to MPD.
- Tree Concerns for damaged trees, especially if you think they might be a safety concern.
- Sidewalk Concerns if you notice shifting sidewalk pavement that creates a trip hazard.
- Traffic Signals, Street Lights, and Signs if you see a street light or traffic signal that’s out and needs a replaced bulb.
Thank you for sharing these issues with the City!!
You’re Invited: Southeast Area Plan Focus Groups
As part of the Southeast Area Plan process the City is partnering with the nINA Collective to support the City’s public engagement efforts with residents of the planning area, including with groups of residents who historically are not well-included in public engagement processes and local government decision-making. One of the engagement strategies includes forming focus groups of residents of the Southeast Area.
Please consider joining one of the upcoming focus group meetings!
- April 7th, 5:30-7:00pm at the Ho-Chunk Nation Community Center, 4724 Tradewinds Parkway. Dinner will be provided! Register here.
- April 8th, 5:30-7:00pm at Kennedy Elementary School, 221 Meadowlark Drive. Dinner will be provided! Register here. Note that this session is intended for Hiestand Park residents. See more about this below.
- April 9th, 5:00-6:30pm at Access to Independence, 3810 Milwaukee Street. Dinner will be provided! Register here.
- En Español: April 14, 7:00-9:00p en Mishque Cocina Peruana, 4606 Monona Drive. Se proporcionará la cena. Regístrate aquí.
Note that the April 8th session is intended for residents of the Hiestand Park neighborhood (link to map). City Planning staff identified this neighborhood as a “Community Action Strategy Area” for the Southeast Area Plan, meaning there will be some special engagement efforts here. This is because Hiestand Park is the only neighborhood in the SE planning area where more than 50% of the population has a household median income below 80% of the Dane County Median Household Income.
