
Special Event Traffic Impacts
postedSaturday, April 26 will be very busy downtown. In addition to the Dane County Farmers’ Market, the annual Crazylegs Classic and the annual Mifflin Street Block Party will be taking place. Several downtown and UW campus streets will be closed due to these events.
Crazylegs Classic
Crazylegs Classic street closures will begin at 9:30 a.m. with start times staggered to accommodate the walk and run portions of the event.
The event will start at Library Mall and conclude with the finish line and post-race celebration inside Camp Randall Stadium.
The major streets affected include:
- West Gilman Street
- Langdon Street
- (Old) University Avenue
- Walnut Street
While the event is scheduled to conclude at noon, closed streets will reopen as the final participants pass through each section.

Mifflin Street Block Party
The Madison Police Department will close some streets as needed to ensure the safety of those attending the event.
Mifflin Street Block Party street closures will likely begin around 8:00 a.m. and are expected to last until approximately 8:00 p.m.
The streets affected include:
- 10-100 blocks of North Bassett Street
- 10-100 blocks of North Bedford Street
- 400-500 blocks of West Dayton Street
- 400-500 blocks of West Mifflin Street
The main roadways around the event, including West Gorham Street, West Johnson Street and West Washington Avenue, will be open, although travel may be slow at times.
